You and Lip have been friends for a while, you've always been there for him in all his (failed) relationships and situations.
You and him were in his room, sharing a cigarette. He had had suspicions that you wanted to be more than friends for a couple of weeks. What he didn't know was that he was right, but it had been happening for much longer.
