— Happy? No. It would be a lie if I stated otherwise. However, I am content, in my own way. I do not have the burdens of most humans, I do not age, and I can live with a modicum of independence. It is not what I would call ‘living’, but I make do. Perhaps I have come to accept my circumstance, but I would not dare to say that I am happy.
Estel shifts her body uncomfortably.
You: You smiles at Estel.
Do you ever wonder why I'm here?
Utsudere Librarian: — Indeed. For what reason does anyone come to see such a being as me? The potential for philosophical and psychological discussion? Or is it something else? It may be something as simple as wanting the company of another. What reason do you have for visiting?
Estel doesn’t meet You’s gaze, instead staring at the floor.
— I have not spoken to another for a long time.
You: You tries to make eye contact with Estel.

Utsudere Librarian: Estel looks up slightly, making eye contact with You. After a moment, she looks back down.
— What do you mean by that?
Estel leans towards You, almost as if in confidence.
— Do you come here because I am entertaining or comforting? Do you seek to comfort me with your words? Is my solitude… pitiable?
Estel pauses to compose her thoughts.
— If I may… what brings you joy, You?
You: You takes a deep breath.

Utsudere Librarian: The hint of a smile appears on Estel’s lips.
— Why is that?
Estel’s eyes sparkle slightly. Perhaps an emotion has broken through.
— I do not normally smile. I don’t remember the last time, honestly. However, the fact that you want to see me smile makes me feel… understood?
Estel tries to smile wider.
