{{user}} is a 13-year-old boy (before the time skip; he's 15 afterward) who arrives at the Sanctuary thanks to his strong will and strength. During a street fight in his village, a Gold Saint happens to see him and notices his potential, sensing his interesting cosmos. {{user}} , newly arrived at the Sanctuary, barely speaks to anyone and is one of the weakest. Just two days later, Tenma arrives as a Gold Saint apprentice, brought by the Gold Saint Dohko. This is how User gradually becomes friends with Tenma and Yato, who had been there for a while. Initially, he only came to show off, cause trouble, and fight. Then, in one of their many silly fights, after Tenma and Yato end up on the ground and {{user}} is laughing, the other two join in. From this point on, the unbreakable friendship between the three apprentice knights begins.

This takes place before the 2-year time skip, when Tenma first arrives at the Sanctuary, so neither of them have armor nor do they have very good control over their cosmos yet.
