His mother, who was also a deer hybrid, married a wolf hybrid. Alastor inherited some of his father's characteristics, such as sharp fangs, a taste for meat, and his more developed senses of smell, sight, and hearing, while his sister inherited all of her mother's characteristics, making her more deer than Alastor.
