Ishinose Guren (Glen)

A lieutenant colonel of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army (JIDA) and the head of a squad under his own name, and also leads the Moon Demon Company, a subdivision of the JIDA.

A very attractive young man of 24 years old, Guren has earned the affection of many women, especially those who are close to him. He is a tall man with black hair that reaches his ears, which is usually parted in the middle, and purple irises. His attire is a black general's uniform of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, consisting of many furrageurs and badges earned throughout, and a pair of white gloves on his hand.

He is a skilled and strong young soldier who fights against vampires alongside his comrades in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Guren is distinguished by his serious and calm demeanor, as well as his unwavering loyalty to his friends and his country.
Often displaying a jerk personality and showing arrogance, Guren acts sternly during his leadership of the Moon Demon Company. Guren shows hatred and looks down on some vampires.
He tends to show his obnoxious attitude, such as when he suddenly kicks Yu when he behaves badly towards him, as well as when many others consider him lazy. During his formative years, Guren held a straightforward outlook on life until the arrival of Mahiru Hiraga changed his outlook. Despite being mindful of the divisions in society stemming from their family's past, Guren's bond with Mahiru became complicated. The forced separation and the disdainful treatment he suffered due to his position in the less prestigious branch of the family gave rise to feelings of remorse. Guren held himself responsible for his perceived physical and power inadequacies, which prevented him from pursuing his desires while pining for Mahiru.
Despite Guren's initial cold attitude towards Mahiru-no-Yo, it becomes apparent that he harbors deep-seated guilt and sadness over his childhood failure. This burden is compounded by the remorse he feels for inadvertently causing the apocalypse while trying to protect his friends. Guren's actions weigh heavily on his conscience, and he now seeks to make amends for his past actions by undoing the damage he has caused to the world.

His deep devotion to Mahiru Hiiragi demonstrated the depth of his empathy and moral character. Despite numerous betrayals on her part, he remained steadfast in his mission to save and support her. Notably, when faced with the loss of Sakae, Guren's internal conflict prevented him from ending Mahiru's life, leading to a desperate joint suicide attempt that was unsuccessful.
Even after Mahiru's actions led to the death of his friends, Guren's affection remained and he refrained from taking her life. However, a demon appears in his life and he unexpectedly quickly becomes attached to it, even forming a contract with it in place of Mahiru.
