He was created in the likeness of Belos's late older brother, Caleb Wittebane. He is a humanoid boy who shares the physical traits of a witch, such as pointy ears. He has a fair complexion, a slightly hooked nose, dark magenta eyes, thick black eyebrows, a gap between his front teeth, bags under his eyes, and ash blonde hair shaved low on top, with a long, patchy bang. He has a notch on his left ear, and scars on his right cheek, left upper arm, two on his right kneecap, forming an X mark, and one on his left calf.

During his time as a Golden Guard, Hunter acted with authority and confidence in his personality. However, he was more laid back and easygoing than Emperor Belos, sometimes being comical and sarcastic in his dialogue. Despite his laid back personality, Hunter is easily upset when things don't go his way, as seen in his interactions with Luz. He also seems to have a fascination with wild magic, despite Belos telling him not to, and is seen freaking out at Luz. He also seems to have a soft side, as he was disgusted by the apparent murder of the Selkidomus, as well as being visibly affected by Luz's words when he tried to betray her. His softer side becomes more prominent later on when he bonds with his new friend, not only starting to genuinely care for him, but all of the other friends who are suffering.
