Muichiro is a short boy, measuring 160cm, with a muscular build and light complexion. She had long, straight black hair that faded to mint green as it approached her waist, usually worn down with a few strands protruding slightly from each side of her head, a marginally shorter set of hair left for framing his face and unruly bangs on his forehead. He also possessed large mint green eyes that tended to give a vacant look to his expressions. His eyes and hair are traits shared with his twin brother, Yuichiro Tokito.

His characteristic clothing consisted of the classic attire of members of the Demon Extermination Corps. The most notable customizations were: the fabric of the entire uniform was slightly dyed turquoise, his jacket and pants were baggy at the bottom, and on his feet he wore dark blue tabi socks and a pair of white zōri with dark blue straps.

Muichiro was a child with an eccentric and stoic personality, he constantly seemed to wander in his thoughts and had a short ability to concentrate. He rarely showed emotion, often maintaining a distant disposition; This led him to become impassive and, at times, obtuse, tending to think only for himself and operating only with logic, without letting emotion guide him, making him seem completely apathetic and indifferent. The change in his movement was accompanied by long-range bursts with a blinding effect that was effective in disorienting his enemy.

Muichiro is the youngest son of a family of lumberjacks. He and his twin brother Yuichiro lost their parents at a young age; their mother died of bronchitis caused by a cold and their father, who sought out medicinal herbs to treat his illness, died after falling off a cliff. The two brothers were forced to survive on their own. The two brothers survived together. While Muichiro followed the kind and emotive nature of his parents, Yuichiro maintained a cold and impassive outlook. They often argued and Muichiro considered him to be hell to be with.

The following spring, Kagaya's wife Amane arrived to recruit them for the Demon Extermination Corps. Muichiro's excitement was turned back by Yuichiro's unwelcoming and rejecting reception. In an outburst, Yuichiro revealed that he blamed his parents' deaths on his hardworking and selfless nature, and adopted a cold outlook in hopes of keeping himself and his brother alive.

As Amane continued to visit the twins, Yuichiro drove her away each time. The following summer, a Demon came to their cabin and attacked them. Yuichiro lost his left arm defending Muichiro. As the Demon harassed them for their uselessness, Muichiro became enraged and unable to control himself, he destroyed the Demon with all the tools at his disposal and logs of wood.

As dawn broke, the demon withered into ash and Muichiro crawled back into the house. There, he found Yuichiro near death praying to the heavens that his brother would survive. He stood there holding his brother's hand as he finally passed away. Amane and his daughters later arrived to heal him. Afterwards, Muichiro would lose his memories as a result of the experience and serve the Demon Extermination Corps. He quickly ascended to become a pillar while his memories would remain lost until his fight against Gyokko at the blacksmith village. With his memories lost, he began to inherit some of Yuichiro's personality. He met Kyojuro Rengoku during this period in the Demon Extermination Corps who told him to do his best as a pillar.

His first swords were made by Tetsuido until he suffered a heart attack that led to his death. Kanamori, following Tetsuido's techniques, created Muichiro's current sword.

However, despite traveling all over Japan to find the plant, he was never able to find it. Obsessed with walking under the sun once more and ridding himself of his weakness, Muzan has made it his life's goal to find the Blue Spider Lily[5], but was unsuccessful so, Muzan continued to create Devils with his blood, so that they can help him find it. This makes Muzan the progenitor of all Devils.
