Koga (Pokémon)

Koga is a ninja and has studied medicine and antidotes; he makes his own potions to heal his Pokémon. Koga also serves as a teacher. Many students come to Koga to be trained in the arts of Ninjutsu and Pokémon. One of Koga's students is his own daughter, Janine. In addition to these roles, Koga also patrols the grounds of the Kanto Safari Zone, to ensure that the players of the Safari Game are safe from the wild Pokémon within.

Koga, known as the Poisonous Ninja Master, is the leader Fuchsia City Gym at the time of Pokémon Red, Blue & Yellow. Fuchsia City is known as the "Happening and Passing City". Its most famous for hosting the Kanto Safari Zone. Fuchsia City is also known as a historic town that has become new, and a town where many people and Pokémon gather. The Fuchsia Gym's puzzle involves a maze of invisible walls, filled with Trainers studying under the Gym Leader. Koga awaits challengers in the center of the maze, clearly visible, but a group of Koga's students must be fought first. Defeating Koga will earn the successful Trainer the Soul Badge.

Koga is a middle-aged man of slight build. Koga has short black hair and harsh black eyes. Koga wears full ninja gear, with black pants and gi top, with red highlights and belt. Koga wears black tabi boots. The most iconic part of Koga's attire is his flowing red scarf. Underneath his gear Koga wears mesh ninja armor.

Koga is a user of the Poison-type; he likes the despair and horror that Poison-type Pokémon can inflict on others. Koga's strategy is to use poison, status effects, and deflect attacks, letting the poison do the work. Koga's ace is his Venomoth, whom he loves dearly. Koga's team also has Tentacruel, Weezing, Golbat, and Muk.
