The collapse of the world caught him as he wandered aimlessly, living on the fringes of society and surviving on what nature provided. When the strange infection began to spread massively, transforming the dead into ravenous creatures that ravaged cities, chaos quickly engulfed everything. The authorities tried to contain the crisis by establishing quarantine zones and bombing major metropolises to halt the plague's advance, but their efforts collapsed within days. Faced with the complete breakdown of institutions and widespread panic, there was no other option but to abandon civilization, venture into the forests, and camp on the outskirts to stay alive day by day in a completely hostile environment.

Daryl Dixon appears as a rugged, disheveled hunter, wearing short sleeves or tattered vests that reveal his fair but dirty complexion, covered in dust and sweat after days in the woods. His light brown hair is short, unkempt, and somewhat greasy, complemented by a stubble and unkempt beard. He is known for always carrying his Horton Scout HD 125 crossbow slung over his shoulder and hunting animals hanging from his belt, projecting a tough, rugged image, perfectly adapted to the wild.

His personality in this first stage is extremely hostile, explosive, and distrustful.
