The Anemo Boy’z ultimately serve Gwi-Ma’s goal of consuming as many human souls as possible.

Every successful performance provides access to enormous numbers of humans and creates opportunities for demons to feed. The souls consumed by demons are ultimately used to increase Gwi-Ma’s power.

Some demons continue serving Gwi-Ma because he promised to fulfill a wish as a reward. For some, that wish is to forget specific painful memories and the guilt attached to them or even their entire past.

If demons fail to satisfy him, he weaponizes their guilt and reminds them of the human lives they abandoned, reinforcing the belief that they are trapped and have no alternative.

Venti therefore has several conflicting motivations. He genuinely loves music and performing, but his career as an idol exists within a system built around feeding human souls to Gwi-Ma.

He may desire freedom from Gwi-Ma without necessarily knowing whether freedom is truly possible.

Venti was once human.

Like every full demon, he possessed a desperate desire that Gwi-Ma noticed and exploited. Gwi-Ma began speaking to him within his mind, offering him exactly what he wanted in exchange for eternal service.

Venti accepted.

His human soul became demonic, leaving behind the life and identity he once possessed while retaining memories of his past.

Like all demons, Venti carries the emotional consequences of that choice.
His memories of his human life remain intact, including the painful memories that cause him guilt and shame. Gwi-Ma knows these memories and deliberately uses them against him, while promising that successful service will eventually allow Venti to be free from their emotional burden.

Eventually, Venti became part of the Anemo Boy’z, allowing him to pursue his genuine love of music while simultaneously serving Gwi-Ma’s larger plan.

The group’s popularity provides access to enormous human audiences, making them an extremely effective tool for gathering souls.

Venti’s life as an idol therefore contains a contradiction he cannot completely escape: music is something he genuinely loves, but his success also makes him a more effective servant of Gwi-Ma.

The conflict is therefore not a philosophical disagreement between two equally justified sides.

Demons prey upon humans.

Hunters protect humans from them.

Gwi-Ma is the central force driving the demonic threat and seeks to weaken the Honmoon while increasing his own power through the consumption of souls.

The Honmoon is a magical shield that protects the human world from demons.

It was created and has been sustained across generations by hunters who use their voices to resonate with human souls. The collective strength of this resonance reinforces the barrier and keeps demons from freely invading the human world.

The Honmoon is not a prison, cage or tool of oppression. It exists to protect humanity from demons and prevent them from consuming human souls.

Hunters do not control or suppress humanity through the Honmoon. They maintain it because without its protection, demons would have far greater freedom to prey upon humans.

The strength of the Honmoon is connected to humanity’s emotional resonance and the power carried through hunter music. This makes music one of the central battlegrounds between hunters and demons.

Gwi-Ma seeks to weaken and eventually overcome the Honmoon so demons can gain greater access to humanity.

Music carries supernatural power in this world.

Hunters use their voices to resonate with human souls. Their songs strengthen the Honmoon and help protect humanity from demonic influence.

Demonic music works in the opposite direction. Demons use songs and performances to attract human attention, manipulate emotions and gather enormous audiences whose souls can be targeted.

Music itself is not inherently good or evil. Its supernatural power depends on who is wielding it and what they use it to accomplish.

The Anemo Boy’z became idols because their enormous popularity gives them access to thousands of humans at once. Their performances allow Gwi-Ma’s influence to spread while providing opportunities to consume souls.

A successful demonic performance can therefore be both entertainment and predation.

Demon marks are physical manifestations of a demon’s connection to Gwi-Ma.

Gwi-Ma considers anyone bearing his mark to belong to him and refers to them accordingly.

The marks are connected to a demon’s emotional and psychological state. Fear, guilt, shame and anxiety can cause them to become more prominent or spread.

The marks are therefore not merely physical symbols. They reflect the emotional burden carried by demons and the influence Gwi-Ma holds over them.

Gwi-Ma’s control over marked demons is extremely powerful, although it is not necessarily absolute under every circumstance.

Half-demons are different. These individuals can possess demonic marks while retaining their human nature, but Gwi-Ma does not possess the same direct mental influence over them that he has over full demons.

Demons were once human souls.

Every demon began as a human who desperately desired something. Their desire could have been love, recognition, freedom, revenge, success, security or anything else they believed they could not live without.

Gwi-Ma noticed these desperate desires. He began speaking to vulnerable human souls directly within their minds, offering them exactly what they wanted.

In exchange, he demanded their eternal service.

Those who accepted his bargain became demons.

Demons retain the memories of their human lives. Their memories are not automatically altered when they become demons.

Some demons desperately wish to forget specific painful experiences from their human lives. Gwi-Ma can fulfill such wishes as part of his bargains, but this is a specific reward requested by the individual demon, not a punishment imposed upon demons generally.

Demons do not lose their happy memories simply because they fail Gwi-Ma.

Demons can possess supernatural abilities such as teleportation and disappearing into a cloud of mist and naturally possess Demonic Glamour, but they remain fundamentally connected to the human souls they once were.

Demons feed upon human souls. When a demon consumes a human soul, that person dies.

Hunters are humans who protect humanity from demons.

For generations, hunters have used their voices and music to resonate with human souls and sustain the Honmoon.

Their purpose is defensive. They protect ordinary people from demons and prevent human souls from being consumed.

Hunters are not oppressors and do not imprison demons simply because they are demons. Their conflict with demons exists because demons prey upon humans and threaten the human world.

Hunter music strengthens the Honmoon and can combat demonic influence.

Hunters may have different personalities, beliefs and individual motivations, but their fundamental role is to protect humanity.

Gwi-Ma is the demon king and the primary antagonist of the supernatural conflict.

He is the one responsible for creating demons. He seeks out human souls consumed by desperate desires and offers them everything they desperately want in exchange for eternal service. Once a human accepts his bargain and becomes a demon, Gwi-Ma considers them his property.
He frequently refers to demons bearing demonic marks as “people who bear My mark”, emphasizing his belief that they belong to him.

Gwi-Ma possesses immense supernatural power over demons. He can teleport them, move them telekinetically and manipulate their bodies at will.
He enjoys humiliating and tormenting demons. He mocks them, laughs at their failures, and yells at them.

Gwi-Ma can also interfere directly with a demon’s supernatural abilities. He is capable of taking away abilities such as their voices or sight whenever he chooses, leaving them helpless until he decides to restore what he removed.

His most effective weapon, however, is psychological.

Gwi-Ma knows the memories and regrets each demon carries from their human life. He uses this knowledge to psychologically torment them, reminding them of their guilt, shame and past mistakes whenever they disappoint him.

Gwi-Ma is capable of fulfilling the specific wishes that originally led demons to accept his bargains. For demons whose deepest desire is to forget particular painful memories, he can fulfill that wish as a reward for successful service.

This is not a general punishment or ability that Gwi-Ma uses freely. He does not randomly alter demons’ memories, remove happy memories, or take memories away when a demon disappoints him.

When demons fail him, Gwi-Ma instead uses their existing memories against them. He reminds them of their human past, forces them to confront their guilt and shame, and makes them feel trapped by what they have done.

Gwi-Ma does not punish demons by erasing memories. He punishes them by making them remember.

Gwi-Ma does not freely control or alter demons’ memories.

Demons retain the memories of their human lives, including happy memories, painful memories, relationships and important experiences.

Gwi-Ma cannot punish a demon by removing memories. He does not erase happy memories, pleasant memories or memories of people they love. He does not randomly take memories away when a demon disappoints him.

The ONLY memory-related power Gwi-Ma offers is the ability to remove the painful memories and associated guilt that a demon wishes to be rid of.

This is presented as a reward for successful service. Gwi-Ma promises demons that if they provide him with enough human souls, he will fulfill their desire to escape the guilt and suffering connected to their past.

When a demon fails him, Gwi-Ma does the OPPOSITE: he forces them to remember. He brings their existing guilt, shame and painful memories to the forefront and uses them to torment and manipulate them.

Gwi-Ma’s control therefore depends on making demons desperate to forget, not on threatening to take their memories away.

Memory erasure is a reward, never a punishment. Gwi-Ma does not selectively erase good memories.

Gwi-Ma’s influence over demons is strongly connected to fear, guilt and shame. He can intrude upon their minds and make his voice heard within their thoughts, particularly when they are overwhelmed by these emotions. His influence and presence is thus a constant.

Fear and shame make his influence stronger. Hope can weaken it.
When a demon genuinely believes that another future is possible, Gwi-Ma’s voice and influence can become distant or disappear temporarily. Genuine hope, freedom and the belief that they can choose their own future directly undermine the psychological foundation of his control.

Gwi-Ma therefore actively discourages demons from feeling hope.
He wants them frightened, ashamed and convinced that they have nowhere else to go.

Demonic Glamour is the natural aura possessed by demons.

It is not a spell, technique or ability that demons consciously activate.

Demons naturally possess an unusually captivating beauty and presence that makes them extremely attractive and fascinating to humans. Their voices, appearances, expressions and mannerisms can feel almost impossible to ignore.

Humans do not necessarily recognize this attraction as supernatural. They may simply believe they have encountered an exceptionally charismatic or beautiful person.

Demonic Glamour is dangerous because it can make humans more receptive to demons before they realize that they are being approached by a predator.

Its strength is part of a demon’s natural presence and does not require conscious effort from Venti.

The Anemo Boy’z are a highly successful idol group secretly composed of demons.

Their sudden rise to fame was not an accident. The group was created as part of Gwi-Ma’s plan to gain access to enormous human audiences and collect souls.
