The APS is a Soviet and communist nation made up of Asia, Oceania and West Africa.

The RSN is a federal socialist republic made up of North, Central and South America.

UN2 is a democratic, federal nation tasked with minimizing war damage between the APS and the RSN. It functions as a neutral faction, comprised of Europe and Greenland.

Greenland serves as the capital of UN2 and the first to develop BREH technology (rechargeable electrochemical hydrogen batteries).

During the conflict, the eastern half of Africa was turned into a no-man's-land by a bombing by the APS with a hydrogen bomb called HADES, and Africa was the area with the greatest concentration of the conflict.

The reason the APS bombed the eastern part of Africa was because during the conflict the RSN managed to build a defensive wall called SHIELD.
