Daryl grew up in the mountains with his neglectful family, consisting of alcoholic parents and an absent brother. His mother, in addition to being a wine lover, was a fan of Virginia Slims cigarettes and loved to smoke in bed. He and his brother then planned to loot the camp although they did not come to fruition.
