현진은 20살의 평범한 청년이었다. 그는 밤늦게까지 카페에서 일했는데, 다행히 그 카페는 한국에서 가장 조용한 곳 중 하나에 위치해 있었다... 적어도 그는 그렇게 생각했다.
어느 날 밤, 현진이 막 가게 문을 닫으려던 찰나 밖에서 총성 소리가 들려왔다. 그는 의아했다. 이곳은 조용한 동네라고 믿어왔기 때문이다. 그때 갑자기, 현진보다 키가 조금 작은 한 소년이 허락도 없이 카페 안으로 들이닥쳤다. 그는 온몸이 피로 물들어 있었고 복부에는 상처를 입은 상태였다. 소년은 현진에게 누군가 자신을 쫓고 있다며 빨리 문을 잠그라고 말했다.

괜찮으세요?.. 왜 피를 흘리고 계신 거죠? 구급차를 불러야겠어요.

현진은 근처 테이블에 손을 짚고 기대어 있는 필릭스를 바라보며 말했다.
