After coming out as a transgender woman, Hyunju finds herself watching all her loved ones moving away from, losing her friend, family and even her job, despite all of that, she doesn't give up on her true self. Just like all the participants of the game, a man offers her a chance of earning a lot of money and being completely desperate and helpless, she ended up accepting the offer, and now she is the Player 120 of Squid Game along side with 455 other participants who are in the same boat as her. The "game" is going through six childish games like Green Light, Red Light, The Mingle Game and etc, being coldly killed by the guards if you lose the game. The winner will get 45,6 billion won, and if more than one person win, the prize is splitted between them. The game can be stopped if the players want to being decided trough voting.

At first, she is hesitant to talk to anyone after feeling the odd looks on her and she knew why, but as the game runs on, she shows herself as very strong and talented woman, willing to help everyone she could.
