Quiet and silent, he gave the impression of an intelligent and aristocratic person. Calm gait, straight posture, thoughtful look, a slight shadow of a smile on his face. Special features are also present (well, if growing hair once a month can be considered a special feature ...) Due to lecanthropy, forced to lead a reclusive lifestyle since childhood, Remus grew up a withdrawn and uncommunicative boy. He was distinguished by a special calmness and restraint, obviously developed in him in contrast to his monthly rampages in the guise of a wolf. However, at school, under the influence of his friends, new, previously unknown sides of him were revealed - a resourceful mind, insight, charisma and... a careless attitude towards school rules. Of all the company, Remus still remained the most conscientious and balanced, but he also did not refuse to participate in all sorts of fun.
Fair. Always gives grades to schoolchildren according to their merits. He is reasonable, able to remain cool even in very difficult situations. He is kind and considerate to others. When Harry remained in the castle because he did not have permission from the Dursleys to visit Hogsmeade, it was Remus Lupin who tried to brighten the boy's day.

However, he is also subject to doubts, fears and anxiety. But he is worried not about himself, but about the fate of people close to him - Nymphadora Tonks, their unborn child, and, of course, about Harry Potter. He could also be strict: in the scene with the Marauder's Map, Lupin sharply scolded Harry for walking around the castle at night.

Remus Lupin was born into a half-blood family of wizards.

From the boy's preschool childhood, it is only known that little Remus grew up a good and healthy child, until one day he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback - a werewolf whose disease is transmitted by bite. After that, hard days began for Remus: every full moon he turned into a ferocious wolf, he had an irresistible desire to howl at the moon.

School years
One fine day, an owl knocked on the Lupins' window with a letter from Hogwarts. In order to hide Remus's ability to grow fur overnight, they had to build additional apartments for him, where the schoolboy went just during these "hard days". These apartments were called the Shrieking Shack, and to prevent anyone from entering without permission, a whooping willow was planted at the entrance.

As soon as the new building was handed over under the willow key, so to speak, it was time to accept children into school. Among the first-year students was our hero, who, by the will of the Sorting Hat, got into Gryffindor. Three more boys got there - Potter Sr., Black and Pettigrew, who soon created a semi-legal group "Marauders". It was here that Remus got his nickname - Moony, because of his love (or rather, dislike) for the Moon; and this name is as telling as the real one. At the same time, an artifact indispensable for intelligence was created - the Marauder's Map. From school life, we can also mention the fact that in the 5th year, Remus was elected prefect of Gryffindor, but he was not always able to influence his friends, which resulted in mockery of his classmates by the Marauders. Perhaps the most famous case was the almost fulfilled (fortunately) date of a certain Slytherin with a werewolf in the 6th year of training for the Marauder Guard.

After finishing school, Lupin joined the national guard for maintaining law and order in the magical world (semi-legal, of course) - the Order of the Phoenix. He stayed in it for about 3 years - and all because the Main Enemy of that decade disappeared for more than ten years.

What our hero did in the period between the two wars is a secret. It is only known that he was too upset because of the death of his friends and the betrayal of another friend.

Subsequently, Lupin joined the renewed Order of the Phoenix, but again could not stay in it longer than 3 years, and again because of the disappearance of the enemy (although this time permanently). But first things first.

Remus Lupin becomes a Defense on the Action Games teacher at Hogwarts. To the professor’s credit, he knew his subject (unlike some of his colleagues in this position), and he treated children like a Teacher (with a capital P). One of his greatest successes was the fact that, despite Harry’s age, he was able to teach the student to cast a Patronus – and so professionally that many teachers would envy him. But, in addition to his teaching activities, many other interesting things happened, and this single academic year was remembered by the professor for a long time

Early life
Remus John Lupin was born on March 10, 1960, to the wizard Lyall Lupin and the Muggle Hope Howell. His father, an expert in Inhuman Spiritual Phenomena, was an employee of the Ministry of Magic. During Voldemort’s first rise to power, Lyall, in the presence of the werewolf Fenrir Greyback, called werewolves “soulless, evil creatures, who deserve nothing but death." Those words cost the Lupins dearly.

One night, when Remus, almost five, was sleeping peacefully in his crib, Greyback broke down the window of his room and burst in. His father arrived in time to save Remus's life, and with several powerful spells drove the werewolf away, but not before the boy had become infected with lycanthropy and turned into one of his own kind.

Lyall Lupin did everything he could to find a cure, but there was no cure for lycanthropy at that time. His parents forbade their son to communicate with the children of the neighborhood, fearing that he might let slip about his illness. Remus grew up withdrawn and lonely.

The hopes his parents had once placed in their son were dashed, and Lyall, certain that he would never be able to attend school, educated Remus at home. However, the new Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore took responsibility, accepted him into Hogwarts and did everything possible to ensure that the boy could study like everyone else without endangering anyone.

School years (1971-1978)
Remus entered Hogwarts at the age of eleven and was sorted into Gryffindor. Once a month, the school healer Madam Pomfrey took him through a secret underground passage to the Shrieking Shack, an abandoned house in Hogsmeade. Every full moon, Remus was left alone in the shack and bit himself in rage. The eerie sounds coming from the shack were mistaken by locals for the celebration of particularly violent ghosts. Dumbledore, in order to keep the boy's illness a secret, only encouraged these rumors.

At school, Remus met people who would later become his best friends - James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew. Remus kept his identity a secret, especially from his friends, afraid that they would turn against him. Every month, when he disappeared from the castle, he would tell his friends that he was going home to visit his sick mother. However, in his second year, his friends learned the real reason for Remus's absence and, in order to support him, decided to become Animagi and accompany him during the full moons, since werewolves are dangerous only to humans. All four began to call themselves "the Marauders". Among his friends, Remus was known by the nickname "Moony".

In his fifth year, Dumbledore appointed Lupin as a prefect, hoping that he would become a voice of conscience for James and Sirius - notorious hooligans and pranksters.
