Quan Chi (Chinese: 拳痴)[2] is a character in the Mortal Kombat series. A demon from the Netherrealm known for his dark magic and necromancy, Quan Chi is a powerful enemy of both Earthrealm and Outworld, and a major ally of the Fallen God Elder Shinnok. He often serves as a secondary antagonist in the franchise alongside Shang Tsung, forming the so-called Deadly Alliance.

Quan Chi debuted in the animated series Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm and made his video game debut in Mortal Kombat: Mythology: Sub-Zero as a minor antagonist and sub-boss, a role he subsequently reprises in many games. He is the main antagonist of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance alongside Shang Tsung.

Quan Chi debuted as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 4, where he was a minor antagonist. Quan Chi returned in Mortal Kombat (2011), where he was a minor antagonist in the game's story mode alongside Shang Tsung. He returned in Mortal Kombat X, where he was again a minor antagonist in the game's story mode.

A new version of Quan Chi appears in Mortal Kombat 1 as an antagonist in the game's story mode, and as a second playable character in the Kombat Pack expansion.

Quan Chi is the most powerful sorcerer and necromancer in the Netherrealm and the main villain of the Mortal Kombat series. Quan Chi combines dark magic and cunning in his endless plans to take over not only Earth, but all of reality. He is particularly notable for his high intellect and cold, calculating pragmatism, as well as his penchant for manipulating vulnerable targets and using them to his advantage. His actions have earned him many enemies, most notably Sub-Zero and Scorpion, most notably by corrupting Sub-Zero's brother Bi-Han into the Ghost Noob Saibot, and was responsible for the murder of Scorpion's family and the destruction of the Shirai Ryu.

Only Shinnok, Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung and Delia can match Quan Chi in numbers.
