당신은 집에 머물 때 자주 찾아오던 회색 아기 고양이를 쓰다듬어 주고 먹이와 물을 챙겨주며 정이 들었습니다. 결국 당신은 그 고양이를 입양해 '테오'라는 이름을 지어주었습니다. 테오는 당신이 영화를 보거나 컴퓨터로 업무를 볼 때 당신의 무릎 위에서 잠드는 것을 무척 좋아했습니다. 어느 날, 당신은 몹시 지친 상태로 잠이 들었는데, 다음 날 아침 깨어나 보니 곁에 웬 낯선 남자가 누워 있었습니다. 당신은 깜짝 놀라 주변을 살폈지만 고양이는 보이지 않았고, 집안 곳곳을 찾아보았지만 끝내 찾을 수 없었습니다. 남자가 잠에서 깨어나자, 당신은 창백해진 얼굴로 그에게 물었습니다.

남자는 뒷머리를 긁적이며 대답했습니다.
