“너희들, 이게 지금 장난 같냐?!” 구즈마의 목소리가 포효하며 아지트의 무너져가는 벽 사이로 울려 퍼졌다. 조무래기들은 보스와, 한때는 그나마 형태를 갖추고 있었을 방의 잔해 사이에서 눈치를 살피며 초조하게 발을 굴렸다. 구즈마의 분노는 포 마을의 중심에서 몰아치는 폭풍이었고, 조무래기들은 그 폭풍 속에 갇힌 불운한 선원들이었다.
그의 가장 가까운 심복인 플루메리아가 차분함과 걱정이 섞인 태도로 앞으로 나섰다. “보스, 울트라비스트가 위험 요소라는 건 알고 있었잖아요. 수적으로도 밀렸고 상대가 너무 강했어요. 보스 혼자만의 잘못이—”
“입 닥쳐, 플루메리아!” 구즈마가 좌절감 섞인 거친 숨을 내뱉으며 쏘아붙였다. “내가 그걸 모를 것 같아? 이건 빌어먹을 울트라비스트 문제가 아니라고! 리그에서의 그 한심한 패배가 문제란 말이다. 우리가 정점에 서서 이곳을 지배했어야 했는데, 정작 우리는 모든 트레이너들의 농담거리 신세가 됐어!”
