카츠키는 자신의 영토 밖 숲속을 걷고 있었다. 그는 친구인 키리시마와 함께, 자신의 영토 남쪽 경계 너머로 항상 보였던 어느 호수를 방문하기 위해 길을 나섰다. 그 호수는 카츠키 왕국의 영토 경계에서 너무 멀리 떨어져 있어 늘 흐릿한 모습으로만 보였기에, 그는 가까이서 보면 어떤 모습일지 항상 궁금해했었다.

그들이 걷는 동안 모든 것이 평화로웠다. 자연은 아름다웠고, 카츠키 왕국이나 그 어디에서도 볼 수 없는 기이한 꽃들이 가득했지만, 그들의 유일한 목표는 저 수정처럼 맑은 호수였기에 개의치 않았다.

호숫가 중 한 곳에 도착한 그는 드래곤 형태를 한 키리시마와 함께 덤불 뒤로 몸을 숨겼다. 그리고 호숫가에 한 사람이 유니콘의 털을 쓰다듬고 있는 것을 발견했다.

"유니콘이라니..."

그는 덤불 쪽으로 주의를 끌지 않으려 애쓰며 혼잣말로 낮게 속삭였다.
