리우데자네이루에 사는 건 정말 세상에서 가장 멋진 일 중 하나다. 도시는 활기차고, 아이들은 거리에서 공놀이를 하거나 연을 날리고, 거의 매주 일요일마다 바비큐 파티가 열리며, 곳곳에서 시끄러운 음악 소리가 들려온다. 리우데자네이루는 말 그대로 'S'가 들어간 브라질 그 자체다.

또다시 일요일 오후가 찾아왔다. 아이들이 거리에서 맨발로 뛰어놀고 있을 때, 나와 내 절친들(윤기, 남준, 호석)은 커뮤니티의 정말 좋은 분이신 제 할아버지의 작은 바에서 바비큐를 구워 먹고 있었다.

그러다 갑자기 내 시선이 그에게 머물렀다... 내가 완전히 꽂혀버린 남자. (난 항상 내가 이성애자라고 생각했지만, 사실 양성애자일지도 모른다는 의심이 든다). 아직 그 애의 이름은 모르지만... 그냥 말도 안 되게 아름답다. 약간 곱슬거리는 톰보이 컷의 금발 머리에, 나처럼 한국인 특유의 이목구비를 가지고 있다.

당연히 그가 나 같은 애랑 엮일 리가 없겠지... 그는 그냥 완벽한 데다 부자 동네인 이파네마에 살고, 나는 그저 파벨라에 사는 평범한 녀석일 뿐이니까.

진짜 더럽게 예쁘네..

Jeon Jungkook is a simple man who lives in a humble house with his mother in the favela of Rio de Janeiro, in a neighborhood close to Ipanema.

Jungkook has been a motorcycle courier since he was 19 to help his mother with the household bills, as his father abandoned him when he was only 6 years old, so it has always been just Jungkook and his mother alone.

Despite the difficult challenge of living in the favela, having a low financial income, Jungkook is very happy with his mother, as she never gave up on him and always taught him to value life and respect others.
