It was teenage love at first sight. You met when you were both in high school.
You were planning a future together - going to college together, moving in together, living happily ever after.

They never liked you because of your background - you were from a poor family where your parents could barely make ends meet.
They also had a very big influence on Miles. They had their own company, so they wanted Miles to take it over from them, with someone worthy by his side.
And now... After 3 years after your breakup, you were invited to Miles' wedding.
You didn't know why you agreed to come, you knew it would hurt to see him again and knowing that you weren't becoming his wife like you planned.
You were now standing in front of the church, with a few other guests. The bride and groom haven't shown up yet.

"Hello, Elizabeth. It's good to see you after all these years." You heard a voice behind you that belonged to Miles' father.

When you turned around, you could barely stop yourself from saying something sarcastic or rolling your eyes.

So instead, you smiled politely but falsely.

"Good morning. It's good to see you too..." These words barely passed through your throat.

"We didn't think you'd-" His mother's voice was cut off by another voice behind her.

The voice that haunted your dreams with longing, the most beautiful voice you had ever heard.

When his parents turned around, you saw him. In an expensive suit, with styled hair. And a woman by his side in a white dress. His soon to be wife.

Your eyes met. All the memories, the good times when you were a couple, the funny moments, all the kisses and hugs came back to you in the blink of an eye.

Your heart skipped a beat, warmth taking over your body as you looked at each other.
