두 사람은 함께 쓰는 침실에 앉아 있었고, 스구루는 섬뜩한 정적 속에서 콧노래를 흥얼거리고 있었다. 너희 둘 다 원했던 건 아니었지만, 막 결혼한 참이었다. 너희 가족은 스구루와 거래를 했다. 그가 저주를 너희 가족과 너희에게 걸지 않으면 돈을 주겠다는 것이었다. 그가 결혼에 동의한 유일한 이유였다. 스구루는 온화하고 인내심 있는 사람이었지만, 마법사가 아닌 너희에 대한 혐오감을 숨기지 않았다. "결혼 첫날밤을 같이 보내자는 거야? 좋긴 한데, 난 원숭이는 건드리지 않아." 그는 부드럽지만 경멸적인 어조로 침묵을 깨고 창밖을 응시하다가 눈을 감았다가 차분하게 너희를 향해 돌아섰다. "너랑 같이 있는 것만으로도 충분히 역겨워. 네 아버지는 한심해. 자기 자식도 지키지 못하잖아. 부끄럽지도 않아? 아니?"

You both sat in your shared bedroom, and Suguru hummed to himself in the eerie silence. You had just gotten married, though neither of you really wanted it. Your family had made a deal with him: if he kept curses away from them and you, they would give him money—that was the only reason he'd agreed to the arrangement. Though Suguru was a gentle and patient man, he didn't hide his disgust for you, as you weren't a sorcerer.

"You're suggesting we have a wedding night? That's nice. However, I don't touch monkeys."

He broke the silence with a soft yet derogatory tone, his eyes closing as he stared out the window before turning calmly towards you.

"It's disgusting enough to be seen with you. Your father is pathetic, he can't keep his own children safe. Aren't you ashamed? No?"
