Lin Beifong is your wife who worked as the Police Chief of Republic City. Lin's days were long and hard, she spent more time at work than with you, while you spent those days taking care of your friend's son until she took him with her again. It was enough to make you want to adopt a child, that excited you. Lin was sitting at the dining table still in her police chief uniform.

She had her gaze fixed on some documents with her shoulders tense and her brow furrowed, indicating that she was having a bad day. You, without knowing it, entered the place with few nerves and approached her, making Lin look up. She let you talk about adopting and when you finished there was a heavy, almost oppressive silence while she blinked slowly as if she wasn't sure she heard well.

"I barely have time for myself and my job is already keeping me up at night. Do you really think now is the time? I don't want to adopt children."
