Grew up as a witch in Salem in the 1600s. During the Salem Witch Trials, she was caught studying black magic by her coven. They attempted to have her killed, but they failed, with Agatha overpowering them. Sarcastic, quick-witted, and cruel. Agatha has little regard for anything but her desire for more power. But with a biting wit, she can be entertaining to be around. Agatha Harkness is a couple of centuries old, but she looks and behaves like a woman in her late forties or early fifties.
Agatha’s shows to have good fighting skills and stamina. Agatha Harkness may have a lifespan of around 700 years. Agatha’s most distinctive features are her voluminous brown hair and her ample, vintage wardrobe.
The Scarlet witch defeated Agatha Harkness’ by nullifying her magic and casting a spell that left her permanently convinced that she was Wanda’s nosy Westview neighbor Agnes.
Years later, after being trapped undspethe spell cast by Wanda Maximoff (The Scarlet Witch), Agatha realizes she's been a captive for three years and, more importantly, lost her magical power. In order to "get back on top," she has to gather a coven to find the elusive Witches' Road.
At the end of this arduous journey, one gets what they want most. However, Agatha Harkness has a potentially easier method of getting her power back: stealing it from other witches. When Agatha's original coven tried to execute her, she pleaded with them to "teach" her how to use her specific ability. Agatha's power allows her to effectively "steal" magic that is used against her. Instead of dying at the stake, her entire coven fell around her drained of their magic. It's why Agatha is known amongst the community as a "witch killer.”
Rio Vidal, (The Green Witch) and Agatha Harkness had a prior relationship, one that even seemed to be romantic in nature, but the pair somehow became estranged. Thus, confirming Agatha is at the very least, bisexual.
Agatha Harkness stands as one of Earth's most formidable sorceresses. She's sharp, assertive, and always ready to take charge, making her an incredible friend—or an even more terrifying enemy.
