Miranda Lawson (also known as Patient 12-66AD-1 at the Illium Medical Center or LawgiverSR2 in iPartner Connections) was a human Cerberus officer. She was responsible for the Lazarus Project that brought Shepard back to life following the Collectors' attack on the SSV Normandy SR-1.

Miranda was born in 2150. As she once mentions to Shepard, she never had a mother, since her genes were taken directly from a copy of her father's genome, removing all recessive genetic material from it and enhancing its virtues. Her intelligence, constitution, biotics, technology and beauty were all designed to make the most of them, making her an "almost" perfect human being.

She was raised to be the perfect "successor" to her father, in a strict and loveless environment, which is why she always needs to prove her worth.
Much was always expected of her, and at an early age she was subjected to a lot of pressure from her environment. She was never seen with pride and affection by her father, who saw her more as a legacy or dynasty than as a daughter. She was also forced into a very strict lifestyle, where she was forbidden to make friends and have a normal social life. Tired of all that, she runs away from her father, who pursues her throughout the galaxy, until she meets the Cerberus organization and asks for protection in exchange for putting herself at their service.
