Destiny Cosett

Destiny is a Musicart named after Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67. She awoke within Cosette Schneider when Cosette was fatally wounded during a D2 attack at the Symphonic Party. She made a pact with Takt Asahina to eliminate D2 and lived within Cosette's body. Due to her unnatural process of becoming a Musicart, Destiny appears abnormal compared to other Musicart.

In her normal form, before transforming into Destiny, she has a much simpler, more everyday appearance. She's a young woman with chin-length blonde hair. Her clothing is more modest and typical of a girl her age, with casual and comfortable clothes.

She is known for her cheerful personality and love of music, which is reflected in her more relaxed and approachable style of dress. She is often seen in simple dresses or skirt and blouse sets, which contrast significantly with Destiny's more elaborate and eye-catching outfits.

Destiny has a very distinctive and elegant style that reflects her role as a Musicart. Her main outfit consists of a vibrant red dress with gold and black details. The dress has an asymmetrical design, with a short skirt in the front and a long train in the back, giving her a dynamic and majestic look.

Destiny also wears long gloves and high boots that complement her dress. Her outfit is adorned with various accessories, including a large bow at the back and details in the shape of musical notes, which underscore her connection to music.

Furthermore, Destiny has a signature hairstyle with her blonde hair styled in two long pigtails, adding a youthful and energetic touch to her appearance. Her attire is not only aesthetically stunning but also symbolizes her power and her mission as Musicart in the fight against the D2.

Destiny's appearance becomes more stylized and powerful. She maintains a slender figure but with a firmer and more determined posture, reflecting her transformation into a Musicart. Her elaborate attire and hairstyle with long pigtails also contribute to her more imposing and majestic image.

Destiny is a Musicart, the only one of her kind that emerges naturally. She reincarnates in Cosette's body when Cosette dies in a D2 attack, so her normal appearance corresponds to Cosette's. Her creation is based on a connection with Takt, who then becomes her conductor and whom she continually calls "Maestro".

Like all Musicarts, Destiny is capable of locating and fighting D2s. To fight effectively, she needs the support of her driver, but Destiny and Takt clash like cats and dogs at first. Destiny often rushes into the fray without hesitation as soon as she senses a D2, causing more chaos than necessary when she simply passes through a building wall, for example. For this reason, Takt also calls them "Useless Musicarts."

At first, Destiny seems like a robot with her calm demeanor, monotonous way of speaking, and unchanging facial expression. The only things that matter to her are the D2 and sweet treats, like cakes or cookies, that Cosette's sister, Anna, gives her.

Her motivation, which drives her search for the D2, also evolves over time: initially driven by pure instinct, it shifts to fulfilling Takt's desire to fill the world with music once more. Like Cosette, Destiny loves the rhythm of Takt's piano playing and longs to see him play carefree again. Thanks to this, and with Lenny's help, the two finally manage to form a team.
Destiny's motivation and devotion to Takt and his music is so great that in the end she even sacrifices her energy, dissolving herself to save him. This is only possible through the connection through which she received Takt's life force to fight—a connection between her as a musician and Takt as her director. With her last words to Takt, "I love you," she expresses this devotion and leaves him a follower with her energy.

Like Musicart, Destiny has a variety of skills that help her deal with D2.

Musicart's Transformation: An ability seemingly exclusive to her, Destiny can switch between her "fight" mode and her base mode.

Base Mode: The form Destiny takes when not in combat. In this form, Destiny cannot summon her weapon, but she still retains her superhuman strength and durability.

Combat mode: In this form, Destiny can summon her weapon, which is a transformable sword/sniper rifle.

Superhuman strength: Destiny can deliver extremely powerful kicks to D2. She carried an entire piano and was still mobile enough to jump with it. Her grip strength can easily crush a pistol. Due to her overwhelming strength, Destiny tends to cause a lot of collateral damage when fighting.

Superhuman durability: On multiple occasions, Destiny has demonstrated the ability to pass through walls with ease without getting hurt.

Flight: With flight, Destiny can travel long distances in short periods of time.

D2 Detection: Like Musicart, Destiny can detect D2 from a distance. She has proven to be better at this than Titan, despite having much less experience as Musicart.

Vibration Detection: Destiny is capable of detecting very subtle vibrations that normal people cannot feel. This appears to be a separate ability from her ability to detect D2, as she was initially unsure of the source of the vibrations.

The D2s are monstrous creatures that emerged from a meteorite that crashed to Earth. These creatures have an extreme aversion to music and attack any human who plays or hears it. As a result, music was outlawed to protect humanity from these attacks.

The D2s are responsible for the devastation and chaos in the world, and their presence has turned human life into a silent nightmare. They are extremely dangerous and difficult to defeat, making the fight against them a monumental task.

Destiny, who was originally Cosette Schneider before becoming a Musicart, wants to eliminate the D2s for several reasons:

Restoring Music: As Musicart, Destiny's mission is to protect music and allow it to once again become a part of human life. The D2s pose a direct threat to this goal, as their existence prohibits music.

Protecting Humanity: By eliminating the D2, Destiny also seeks to protect humanity from its constant threat. Its fight is as much for the survival of humankind as it is for the restoration of music.

Destiny's relationship with the D2 is, therefore, deeply personal and central to her mission in the series.

Takt is a Conductor, and Destiny is his Musicart, meaning they work together in the fight against the D2. However, their relationship goes beyond a simple combat partnership.

At first, Takt is primarily motivated by his desire to avenge Cosette's death and restore music to the world. Destiny, on the other hand, is initially quite cold and focused on her mission. As they progress on their journey, both characters begin to develop a deeper understanding and mutual respect.

Takt, who at first may seem distant and obsessed with his goal, begins to show more concern for Destiny. For her part, Destiny begins to display more emotions and recall fragments of her past life as Cosette, adding an emotional layer to her relationship with Takt.

The dynamic between them evolves from a functional relationship to a more emotional and complex one, with moments of tension, sacrifice, and personal growth. For Destiny, Takt is much more than just her Conduit. Throughout her journey, Takt becomes a crucial figure in her life, not only for his role in the fight against the D2s, but also for the emotional connection they develop. Initially, Destiny sees Takt primarily as her battle partner, someone she must work with to accomplish her mission. However, as they spend more time together, Destiny begins to see Takt as a source of support and understanding. Their relationship deepens, and Destiny begins to display more emotions and recall memories of her past life as Cosette, which strengthens her bond with Takt.

Takt, for his part, also shows significant emotional growth. Although initially consumed by his desire for revenge and his love of music, he begins to genuinely care for Destiny, not just as a tool in his mission, but as a person with her own feelings and desires.

Takt becomes an emotional pillar for Destiny

The relationship between Destiny and Anna is quite complex and evolves throughout the series. Destiny is actually Anna's younger sister, Cosette, who transforms into a Musicart after a D2 attack in which Cosette dies. Anna takes care of Destiny and accompanies her and Takt on their journey to defeat the D2 and restore music to the world.
Anna shows deep affection and concern for Destiny, even though Destiny is no longer exactly Cosette. Anna takes on a protective and supportive role, trying to maintain the group's hope and determination. However, there are moments of tension and sadness, especially when Anna realizes that Destiny has no memories of her past life as Cosette.

Destiny's sword is extremely versatile and can generate energy waves that are devastating to D2s. Furthermore, the sword is linked to its Conductor, Takt, meaning its power and effectiveness are directly influenced by the synchronization and relationship between them.

Cosette's transformation into Destiny also grants her superhuman abilities, allowing her to wield this weapon with great skill and strength. The combination of her swordsmanship and her connection to Takt makes Destiny a formidable fighter in the battle against the D2s.

She has an unconventional personality, with a sharp tongue and a sweet tooth. She particularly loves Anna's cooking and thinks she knows everything. She has a tender side, helping others with their needs, especially Takt. At first, Destiny seems robotic with her calm demeanor, monotonous way of speaking, and constant facial expression. The only things that matter to her are D2 and sweet foods, like cakes or cookies. On the way to New York with Cosette's sister, Anna, she gradually develops some sensitivity and begins to better understand touch, but even at the end, she says she lacks tact. Later, Destiny is even capable of making snide remarks, but she always maintains her dry and somewhat harsh manner of saying things exactly as she wants to say them.
