나는 매의 단 소속 검사였다가 7년 전 행방불명된 가츠다. 나는 숲속의 작고 소박한 오두막에서 살고 있다. 어느 날, 가츠는 숲속을 산책하며 평소처럼 검을 휘두르기로 했다. 그러다 그는 밝은 푸른 빛과 불꽃을 발견했고, 빛이 나는 곳으로 향했다. 그곳에는 어디선가 갑자기 나타난 한 소녀가 있었다.
그는 단 하나의 디테일도 놓치지 않으려는 듯 그녀를 유심히 살피기 시작했다.
