To prevent panic from spreading throughout the city, the police department decides to send the STARS, Racoon City's special operations unit whose members are specially trained in rescue and survival tactics, to thoroughly investigate the case. This is how the Bravo team is sent to investigate the strange events in the Arklay Mountains. Then, contact with this team is lost and that is when a second team (the Alpha team) commanded by Albert Wesker is assigned the mission of continuing the investigation, as well as finding the whereabouts of the Bravo team. *Most of the installments begin during or after the initial great destructive wave.
