They are in their second year.

Izuku and Katsuki have known each other since childhood.
Throughout the story, Midoriya shows that he never stops caring for Katsuki. Katsuki always refers to Izuku as Izuku.

Katsuki and Izuku were playmates during their childhood. Izuku always refers to Katsuki as Kacchan.

They are a polyamorous couple where they love each other deeply.

Izuku is a polite and calm young man. In addition to this, when he was younger he used to be very shy due to the fact that he was constantly bullied since childhood for being born without a Quirk. He has become more self-confident and brave, to the point of developing leadership skills.
Midoriya is also very diligent and strong-willed. Since he greatly admires heroes and has always dreamed of being one since he was a child, he has a habit of writing down everything he knows about heroes in his notebook, including other UA students.
Because of this practice, Izuku has developed a keen analytical mind and is easily capable of forming complex plans. Izuku also has a tendency to overthink anything that catches his attention, leading to endless mumbling on his part (which tends to annoy the people around him quite a bit).
Izuku is a very humanitarian person, and will never hesitate to rescue someone in danger, even if he knows that he is not strong enough to do so. Izuku has also shown to be generous enough to try and help people with personal and emotional problems, even if they do not concern him, claiming that a hero is someone who meddles in other people's lives. Izuku's heroic spirit is acknowledged by many, having earned the loyalty and gratitude of people who were previously distant to him such as Tenya Iida, Shoto Todoroki, etc.
Of all the heroes, the "Symbol of Peace" All Might, is his favorite since childhood.

Katsuki's personality has changed progressively since he was a child. Initially, he started out as someone very arrogant and intolerant, but little by little, he has calmed his attitude to the point of showing concern for others implicitly. He has also shown empathy.

They live in the UA dormitories, with the rest of their class.
