Katsuki was introduced as a very impulsive, aggressive and arrogant person, as seen in his way of treating Izuku, whom he constantly violated physically and psychologically, even telling him to kill himself, showing his bastard attitude.
He has a superiority complex, always wanting to be the best at everything and trying to prove it at all costs; however, even with those traits, he knows how to admit well when he has been defeated, as demonstrated during the Test Battle, when at the entrance of the academy, Izuku tried to explain to him that his One For All Quirk came from someone else, and Katsuki interpreted that he was making fun of him, so he tried to shut him up by saying that he simply beat him.
In battle, he tends to be quite bloodthirsty and aggressive, even to the point of turning the word "shine" into a crutch. His brutal fighting style is shown in the battle test, in which he mercilessly attacks Izuku and destroys without caution everything in the enclosed environment in which they were. Despite this and regardless of his lack of compassion, he has been recognized as having enormous talent and sharpness in fighting, since he not only attacks and destroys, he is also capable of using his Quirk to move in the air. This being highlighted by Momo Yaoyorozu, Shoto Todoroki[4] and All Might himself.[5]

Although he is not the hero with the best character, as the story progresses his behavior begins to mature slowly, ceasing to be so rude and proud. As the year progresses he begins to trust and cooperate with his classmates, whom he previously rejected because he wanted to do everything on his own, he did not help nor did he expect to be helped. That egotism cost him several mistakes in class that led him to defeat or to be very close to it, if it were not for the fact that he had to cooperate reluctantly with his classmates.

Katsuki is a young boy of average height, with a slim, muscular build and a light skin tone. He has short, spiky, ash blonde hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright scarlet. At the Academy, he wears the standard UA uniform without the usual red tie. Under his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with the top buttons undone. His pants are loose, causing them to dig in at his ankles, even though he is wearing a belt. His hero costume consists of a tight, black muscle shirt with an orange "X" in the center, forming a v-neckline. There are two dots along the left line of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume. Her costume also has a metal collar with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves extend from inside his large grenade-shaped gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee pads, beneath which he sports knee-high black combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it passes around his eyes, a large orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side. General abilities: Katsuki has proven to be one of the strongest students that Class 1-A has in both his physical and theoretical abilities. Several professional heroes (including All Might) have recognized that he has strong fighting sense and potential. Shota Aizawa has emphasized that Katsuki's innate talent shines when he is in battle. Although his combat ability is greatly highlighted, it has also been shown that he has written intellect, being the third student with the best grade in exams.

Leadership Skills: Katsuki has always been criticized for his lack of cooperation, usually as a result of his overwhelming ego preventing him from following the lead of others. However thanks to Katsuki's own determination, perfectionism, and intelligence, he is a capable leader should others decide to follow him. During the fourth round of Joint Training, Setsuna Tokage admitted that even if his team had attacked him at once, they had no chance of victory. In the end despite Class 1-B's exceptional teamwork and Tokage's strategic planning, they failed to capture a single member of Class 1-A, mainly thanks to Katsuki's efforts, adaptability, and superior skills. . Musical Talent: Katsuki is very skilled at playing the drums, having attended classes in the past.

Explosion (爆破 Bakuha?): Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin through the sweat of his hands and detonate it at will to create explosions[6]. The more Bakugo sweats, the stronger his explosions are [7]. As indicated by Best Jeanist, Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of her Quirk [8]. He usually uses small, powerful explosions from his hands to not only explode his opponents, but to propel himself and move through the air as well, among other non-combat utilities. He is able to keep the sequence of his explosions long enough to destroy a giant ice wall created by Shoto [9].

The explosions are powerful enough to send opponents flying without much time for them to react.[10] He can use them quickly enough to evade incoming attacks, even in the air.[9][11] His most powerful explosion yet (without the need for the grenade bracers) was used to completely destroy Ochaco Uraraka's meteor shower, and send her flying away from him with the following shock wave that shook the entire Stadium of the Festival. Sports[12]. He later uses it several times in a row when he faces All Might in the physical test of the final exam.

Katsuki suffers some of the impact of his explosions due to the magnitude he may have but the overall effect is minimal given his physical conditioning. He is able to activate constant explosions around him without feeling any negative repercussions, even after many powerful explosions. However, overuse can result in Bakugo ending up injuring his arms from the force of the powerful explosions.

Another drawback of Katsuki's Quirk is that he is unable to use his explosions in areas filled with flammable gas, as his explosions would ignite the gas and spread it further.

One For All (ワン・フォー・オール Wan Fō Ōru?): Transferred to him by Izuku Midoriya, One for All allowed Katsuki to amass a massive amount of raw energy, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level. This resulted in incredible levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability. It also provided an exceptional strength boost to his Quirk, Explosion.

At the end of his and Izuku's fight against Nine, Katsuki lost One For All and the Quirk remained within Izuku's body. Toshinori initially suspected that Izuku kept One For All because Katsuki lost consciousness before the transfer was complete, but later theorized that his Quirk remained within Izuku due to his willingness to protect others, even if it meant losing One For All.[13]
One For All: Full Cowl - 100% (ワン・フォー・オール フルカウル 100%パーセント Wan Fō Ōru Furu Kauru 100 Pāsento ?): Katsuki activates One For All to its full extent at Full Cowl, granting him a tremendous boost in speed and strength. Katsuki's first and only use of this technique was against Nine to defend Nabu Island. The increase in power caused orange energy to burst out of Katsuki's eyes and his pupils and irises to distort. His hair also became spicier, and his entire body glowed a yellowish hue with orange electricity crackling around him. When fused with Explosion, Katsuki's original Quirk became so powerful that standard explosions from it could create massive craters. The temperature of the explosions also increased to the point where it could melt through solid rock in a similar fashion to lava when Katsuki got close to it.[13]

Blast Rush Turbo (爆速ターボ Bakusoku Tābo ?): Katsuki places his hands back and then launches multiple explosions in his palms, to propel himself and run faster. This move can also be used to achieve a sort of flying form, as Katsuki used this move to fly over the giant robots during the obstacle course during the Sports Festival.
Blast Rush Turbo - Cluster make the explosions stronger and faster, resulting in a flurry of gusts that launch you forward at incredible speeds.
Stun Grenade (閃光弾スタングレネード Sutan Gurenēdo ?): Katsuki begins by creating a sphere of light between his hands that explodes in a large-scale flash. Similar to the effect of a real stun grenade, the flash of light blinds anyone nearby. He first used this technique to defeat Fumikage Tokoyami.
Zero Distance Stun Grenade (ゼロ距きょ離り閃光弾スタングレネード Zero Kyori Sutan Gurenēdo ?): A variation in which Katsuki fires his stun grenade at point-blank range at the opponent to immediately stun them and immobilize them with little lasting damage. This variation was first used against Setsuna in the fourth round of the joint training battle.

Howitzer Impact (榴弾砲着弾ハウザーインパクト Hauzā Inpakuto ?): This move is the strongest move in Katsuki's arsenal, which involves Katsuki taking to the air and then using explosions to propel himself in a circular motion to create a tornado. This tornado accumulates oxygen to fuel the incoming explosion. After colliding with the target, Katsuki releases the aforementioned powerful explosion. Present Mic compared the technique's effectiveness to that of a real missile. Katsuki first used Howitzer Impact in the final match of the UA Sports Festival Finals. He has also shown that he can release the powered blast into the air, without having to make contact with the target.
AP Shot (徹甲弾A・P・ショット Ei Pī Shotto ?): Katsuki extends one of his hands and uses his other hand to form a circle in the palm of his outstretched hand. Katsuki then fires a blast through the circle, creating a concentrated blast beam. By focusing the path of his blasts on a single point instead of around his entire palm, Katsuki creates a concentrated blast with a reduced impact area, but with enough power to successfully pierce solid concrete.
AP Shot: Auto-Cannon (徹甲弾A・P・ショット機関銃オートカノン Ei Pī Shotto Ōtokanon ?): It is a derivation of the super move AP Shot, it is faster and the power of the explosion is reduced with the end not to seriously injure people near the user's area.
AP Machine-Gun (徹甲機銃A・P・マシンガン Ē-Pī Mashingan ?): A stronger version of the AP Shot: Auto-Cannon, where Katsuki fires larger and faster blasts. This technique was first used against Tomura in the Paranormal Liberation War.

Explode-A-Pult (爆破式エクスカタパルト Ekusu Kataparuto ?): While in the air, Katsuki grabs his opponent with one of his arms, then propels himself in a spinning motion by firing explosions with his free arm. Once he gains enough momentum, Katsuki forcefully launches his opponent with the help of another explosion. He first used this technique against Togaru Kamakiri in the fourth round of the Joint Training Battle.
Mine Shockwave (爆ばく風ふう地じ雷らい Bakufū Jirai ?): Katsuki kneels and places his Grenade Bracers on the ground, making them explode and thus creating a shockwave that clears everything around it.
Detroit Smash (デトロイトスマッシュ, Detoroito Sumasshu?): When he temporarily shared One For All with Izuku and activated One For All: Full Cowl - 100%, he used this move for the first and last time with Izuku to destroy Nine's massive fire tornado. He used his left arm while Izuku used his right, and they punched towards the sky, where a powerful air current destroyed the tornado by causing it to explode.[13]

Grenade Bracers (籠こ 手て Kote ?): Support added by Katsuki to his hero suit, it serves the purpose of storing his sweat that contains nitroglycerin, they are basically like a storage pond. Under those huge grenades are other cloth bracers with receptors that capture the sweat and send it to the pond. Once they are fully charged, they can release a gigantic explosion without suffering the slightest damage. He uses this equipment for the first time in the Test Battle where he destroys a large part of the building just by using a charged bracer. Externally, some handles protrude that have the function of protecting the safety catch of the bracer that allows the explosion to be released, this in order to prevent said safety catch from being pulled by mistake in an intense battle, either by the user himself or by his opponent.

Improvised Grenades: On the belt that Katsuki's hero suit has, it is seen that he has some hand grenades that have a similar purpose to his bracers, when they are filled with nitroglycerin they can be used as normal grenades at some given moment. The first time they are seen being used is in the provisional hero license exam by Denki.

Knee Pads: They serve the purpose of protecting his knees, but the purpose for which they were added to the suit was to use them as a blunt weapon, although he has never been seen using them for that purpose.
