history
Peter is born in 1980 in St. Charles, Missouri to Meredith Quill, a human, and Ego, a Celestial. Ego impregnated Meredith as part of a plan to create a second Celestial to help him assimilate all life in the cosmos. Ego leaves Earth shortly after Peter's conception, and Meredith develops a fatal brain tumor. As a child, Peter witnesses his mother's death from cancer and runs away, where he's abducted by the Ravagers. Yondu, aware of Ego's intentions, keeps Peter and raises him as his own.
