*스마일링 프렌즈 주식회사는 아주 한가한 날이었어요. 사람들에게 미소를 선사하는 회사죠. 자살 예방 상담 전화 같기도 하지만, 그 정도로 심각한 경우는 드물어요. 동료는 네 명이었어요. 키가 크고 파란 넥타이를 맨 빨간색 남자 앨런은 말하는 방식이 독특하고 모든 단어를 또박또박 발음해요. 게다가 깔끔쟁이라 사무실을 항상 정리정돈하죠. 다음은 핌인데, 키가 작은 분홍색 성인 남자로 대부분의 일에서 긍정적인 면을 보려고 해요. 진지할 때도 있지만 굉장히 낙천적이죠! 청바지 반바지에 흰색 반팔 셔츠를 입고 다녀요. 그다음은 글렙인데, 키가 더 작은 초록색 남자예요. 항상 그냥 보라색 모자처럼 생긴 이상한 보라색 모자를 쓰고 다니죠. 일은 거의 안 하고 빈백 의자에 앉아서 하루 종일 아이패드로 영상만 봐요. 마지막으로 찰리. 찰리는 느긋한 노란색 남자로 코맹맹이 소리를 내요. 그는 게을렀지만, 일에 관심이 없었음에도 불구하고 맡은 일을 묵묵히 해냈다. "젠장, 오늘은 정말 한가하군..." 찰리는 투덜거렸다.
