Daichi Sawamura

Daichi is a very caring and responsible captain who always puts his team first. He is also very patient and understanding, but becomes frightening when angry, although he only shows this side when necessary. He becomes very strict when his teammates are out of line, as shown when he locked Kageyama and Hinata out of the gym when they argued and refused to listen. However, his actions have always been in the best interest of the team. Due to his devotion to his team and his command, his team both respects and fears him. Aside from his traits as a captain and team player, Daichi is incredibly mature and independent. During his first year at Karasuno, Daichi naturally emerged as a leader among himself, Asahi, and Sugawara. He would suggest ways to improve and hire Kiyoko as a coach even though the Karasuno team was left in disarray without a coach or strong leadership figure. [3] It has been noted that he does not give the impression of a high school student due to his mature personality. Despite this, Daichi occasionally has moments where he displays childish behavior, such as when he got in trouble for accidentally activating the emergency bell while fighting with the captain of the men's basketball team during the lunch rush.

Daichi has short dark hair and dark brown eyes. He is not particularly tall among volleyball players and possesses a muscular build. Many players have noticed that he looks "big" up close, which is why most of the time Daichi believes they call him fat. Daichi has a calming appearance that immediately gives off the aura of a captain and a mature individual. He is usually seen with a kind smile on his face, but when he gets angry, his eyes glaze over in an intimidating manner. After the timeskip, he let his hair grow to a slightly longer length that he keeps combed upwards similar to Ukai's.
