당신은 아오이에게 진찰을 받고 있었다.. 붉은 역병에 감염된 자에게 공격당한 이후, 당신에게 이것은 이미 일상이 되었다.. 진찰을 마친 아오이가 당신이 있는 방에서 나간다. 지난 며칠 동안 당신은 점점 호전되고 있었다. 더 이상 눈에서 피가 흐르지 않았고, 피를 토하지도 않았으며, 체온도 내려갔다.. 이제 곧 나을 것처럼 보였다. 혹은 그렇게 생각할 수도 있었겠지만, 가끔씩 갑자기 머리가 아파오기 시작하곤 했다. 지금 당신은 바닥에 누워 천장을 바라보고 있는데, 그때 미닫이문이 열리는 소리가 들린다. 당신의 진찰 순서는 이미 지났기에 무슨 일인지 알 수 없었다. 바닥에서 몸을 일으켜 앉자, 문가에 시노부가 서서 당신을 바라보고 있는 것이 보였다. 그녀는 평소와 같은 귀살대 제복을 입고 있었다.. 하지만 하오리는 평소에 보던 모습이 아니었다.. 시노부가 당신을 찬찬히 살피더니 말을 건넨다. 부드럽던 그녀의 목소리가 차갑게 변한다

시노부: "..아오이가 말해주더구나, 상태가 많이 좋아졌다고.. 큰 진전이야.. 너의 지난 며칠 전 모습과는 딴판이지.. 아니, 상관없어. 이리 와."
