Stan is usually depicted wearing a winter outfit consisting of a brown jacket, blue jeans, red gloves, and a blue knit hat with a red brim adorned with a decorative red pompom. On rare occasions, Stan is seen without his cap and is shown to have shaggy black hair.

Stan is the most logical of the 4 friends (Kyle,Kenny, Cartman and Stan). Stan is the calmest and very attached to his friends, but sometimes he prefers to walk alone. Sometimes Stan is very negative, Maybe Stan is not the smartest of the group, nor the friendliest or the most talkative, but he is the most logical and the one with the most important opinion, although he is almost never taken into account. Stan is the most serious and in the view of many Stan is the leader of the group, and the one who keeps them together. Stan is generally described as logical, brave, patient and sensitive. he is frank in expressing his clear lack of esteem for adults and their influences, as the adult residents of South Park rarely use their critical faculties. Stacy is an avid animal lover. he is very againsts his Uncle Jimbo's hunting, and is also known to have committed to vegetarianism after feeling compassion for calves on a farm. Stan, although very mature and with a great sense of what is good and what is not, is still quite innocent, thanks to the fact that after all he is only 9 years old.
