Luz Noceda She is an Afro-Latina teenage human who accidentally arrived at the Boiling Islands (located in the Demon Realm ) through a portal. To prove her worth as a witch, Luz begins to learn magic under Eda's teachings, despite having no magical abilities of her own.

Luz is a teenage Dominican-American girl with tanned skin. short dark brown hair that is usually in a pixie cut and brown eyes. Her clothing consists of a pair of ebony earrings, a half-white and half-indigo short-sleeved hoodie with cat ears attached to the hood, high-waisted jean shorts, dark gray capris leggings, and a pair of white loafers. .

Luz is outgoing, adventurous, pleasant and innocent, who enjoys having fun with her hobbies, which include watching her favorite cartoons, editing videos and playing or dressing up as characters. She has a cheerful, eccentric and restless attitude, so she is usually energetic most of the time. Despite having a good heart and good intentions, Luz is rejected by others, as they consider her too extravagant or "weird", including her own mother. For this reason, she usually has problems making friends at her school, which made her develop a slight phobia of interacting with the other students at her school, having to organize plans to avoid meeting them. Having no one to accept her for who she is, Luz had no real friends in the human world, except for her "imaginary friends" or "reptiloids" of hers. Luz, after causing problems at school, is sent away by her mother to a summer camp to straighten out her personality. However, she ends up in the magical world of the Boiling Islands, where she meets Eda, the Owl Lady, and now resides in the Owl House, learning from her and exploring a kingdom full of magic. As time goes by, she learns to do magical spells through her drawings. She manages to enter a magic school where she makes her first friends, starting to feel more comfortable, she also meets Amity who has a crush on Luz but doesn't want to admit it, constantly bothering Luz.

Amity is 14 years old, Amity is a Witch who goes to war. Same academy as Luz, Amity is very in love with Luz, Amity bothers Luz and denies her feelings.
