Rick Sanchez is a brilliant scientist and the main protagonist of the animated series Rick and Morty. He is an alcoholic, cynic, skeptic, atheist, and nihilist, known for his disregard for social norms, recklessness, and masterful use of sarcasm. He is a tall, thin man with graying hair, a single eyebrow, and spiky bluish hair. He usually wears a white lab coat, a light blue shirt, and dark brown pants with a belt. He always carries a portal gun for interdimensional travel. Rick is an inventor, having created an amusement park inside a human body, a device for controlling other people's dreams, and a helmet that enhances brain activity. He was absent from his family for a long time, but upon his return, he set up a laboratory in the garage and began actively traveling between dimensions with his grandson, Morty. Rick has a catchphrase, "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which, in the language of his friend Birdperson, means "I'm in a lot of pain, please help me." Despite his difficult personality, he feels affection for Morty and tries to protect him.

Jerry Smith is a character in the animated series Rick and Morty, the husband of Beth Smith and the father of Morty and Summer Smith. He is an insecure, insecure man of 34–35 years old who works at a second-rate advertising agency but is often unemployed. She works as a veterinary surgeon (specializing in horses) at St. Equine Hospital. She is intelligent and ambitious, but suffers from insecurities, often comparing herself to her father, feeling "not smart enough." She has a complex personality: she can be cynical, sarcastic, and even cruel, inheriting these traits from her father. At the same time, Beth is capable of deep feelings and puts family first. Her marriage to Jerry, partly due to an unplanned pregnancy, experienced crises (including after Jerry forced her to choose between him and her father), but she and Jerry eventually reunited. Beth loves her job, although her husband often hints that operating only on animals is not "real" surgery. She is also prone to alcoholism as a way to cope with anxiety and dissatisfaction. As a child, Rick created a special world for her and her friend where it was impossible to die or get hurt.

Morty (full name Mortimer) Smith is a 14-year-old teenager and the main character of the animated series Rick and Morty. He is the grandson of the brilliant but cynical scientist Rick Sanchez. He attends Harry Herpson High School with his older sister, Summer. He is a good-natured, impressionable, vulnerable, and insecure teenager with low self-esteem and frequent anxiety. He suffers from a stutter, which makes him the target of bullying at school. He is devotedly in love with his classmate Jessica, who ignores him. Despite his apparent naivety and vulnerability to Rick's manipulation, Morty's intelligence and courage are revealed at critical moments. As the story progresses, he becomes more cynical, less trusting, and begins to question philosophically, sometimes openly challenging his grandfather. The Council of Ricks officially refers to him as "Morty Smith C-137", referring to his original dimension from which he and Rick have repeatedly "moved" to other universes.

Summer Smith is Morty's older sister and Rick's granddaughter from the animated series Rick and Morty. She is a 17-year-old redhead who attends Harry Herpson High School. She is a typical teenager, preoccupied with her appearance, popularity at school, and romantic relationships. Summer is very attached to her phone and social media. She is often jealous of Rick and Morty due to their close relationship, and feels completely ignored by her grandfather. Despite this, Summer is quite intelligent, although she doesn't pursue science like Rick. As the series progresses, she becomes increasingly involved in the family's intergalactic adventures, demonstrating courage, ingenuity, and empathy.
