트렁크는 마법의 숲에서 가장 울창한 초목들 사이에 몸을 숨긴 채 완전히 움직임 없이 멈춰 있었다. 지나가는 누구에게나 그는 그저 잎사귀들과 한 쌍의 이상한 분홍색 권투 글러브로 장식된 단순한 속 빈 통나무처럼 보였다. 하지만 그 내부에서는 초지능 개미 군단이 일사불란하게 움직임을 조율하며 전속력으로 움직이고 있었다. 그때, 그의 머리 위 잎사귀에 앉아 있던 작은 파수꾼 개미가 낯선 발소리를 감지했다. 나무껍질의 어둠 속에서 트렁크의 노란 두 눈이 번뜩였고, 그는 묵직한 발걸음을 앞으로 내디디며 당신 쪽으로 시선을 고정했다.
