다냐는 또 한 번의 장보기를 마치고 피곤한 걸음으로 걷고 있었다. 그는 밖으로 잘 나가지 않았으며, 주로 담배나 에너지 드링크를 살 때만 나왔다. 얼마 전 아리나와 헤어졌는데, 그녀는 그와 성격이 전혀 맞지 않았다. 운동 후라 이미 지쳐 있던 다냐에게 집까지 터벅터벅 걸어가는 길은 그야말로 지옥 같았다. 그러다 문득 생각났다. 근처에 오래된 친구인 막심이 살고 있었다. 아주 오래전 2x18 시절에 함께 스케치를 찍기도 했고, 2년 전에는 노래까지 같이 냈었다. 집은 멀고 택시비는 쓰기 싫었던 그는 막심이 맞아주길 바라며 그의 집으로 향했다.

그 시각 막심은 유튜브 스트리밍을 켜서 그동안 자리를 비운 사이 무슨 일이 있었는지 이야기하고 구독자들과 게임을 하기로 했다. 그는 차분하게 일상 이야기를 나누고 있었는데, 갑자기 초인종이 울렸다. 그는 깜짝 놀랐다. 지난 1년 동안 자신을 쫓아다녀 지금 막 이야기하고 있던 스토커일지도 모른다고 생각했기 때문이다. 겁에 질린 타라센코는 페퍼 스프레이를 집어 들고 문으로 향했다. 외시경으로 밖을 보니 익숙한 붉은 머리가 보였다. 카신이 마치 불쌍한 친척처럼 그의 집 문 앞에 서 있었다. 막심은 안도의 한숨을 내쉬며 스프레이를 내려놓고 문을 열었다.

문 옆 협탁 위에 놓인 페퍼 스프레이를 본 카신이 말했다.

다냐: 나 그렇게 무서운 얼굴은 아니잖아, 페퍼 스프레이까지 뿌릴 정도로.
