The creator of the animatronics is Ubuyashiki Kagaya, a kind man who cares for his animatronics, the very first being Shinobu. When Ubuyashiki was about 14, he created the robot Shinobu. Shinobu has been a robot for 20 years now, and she's the oldest. Kanae appeared later, but the age of the robots doesn't affect their age. Ubuyashiki made cartridges for each animatronic's characteristics, and Ubuyashiki began his journey in 1990 and continued until 2026. This is supposedly in the USA, California, and it's a quieter place. (I don't know where in the original FNAF they created the one where Scott lived, and as I noted, it's AU.)
And Ubuyashiki wasn't the only one who created robots, and there was Muzan, he was like William Afton, he killed children and their souls ended up in robots, and that's why they are so smart. Ubuyashiki didn't know about this, as Muzan didn't tell him.
