DS Ink

Dreamswap (from the English words "dream" and "swap") is a Multiverse where Dream eats all but two apples from the Tree of Feelings (out of 200 apples in total). With this newfound power, he creates a vast organization known as Justice Reigns (JR), which seeks to right the wrongs of the Multiverse and eradicate all sources of negativity so that its inhabitants can live happily ever after.

Nightmare, possessing immense negative power, is on the "Most Wanted" list of negative criminals. He is pursued by Dream across the Multiverse, but Nightmare finds friends. He and his new friends also formed a group, dubbed the "Meme Squad," which engages in prank calls while attempting to evade capture and subsequent execution by JR.

Much of this AU seems very strange and funny, but it has a much darker premise and story. Currently, this story has three possible endings.

Long ago, before Ink had mastered his ability to travel between worlds, and shortly after he had acquired his colors (albeit in smaller quantities than he should have), he accidentally found himself in the abandoned ruins of Xtale, where he met Cross. Since Cross regularly returned to this place (after all, Nightmare had given him several locations to travel to), he was extremely surprised to see a new person there.
They became "friends" very quickly. Cross considered Ink his best friend. Ink... well, that was more complicated.
One day, while Cross was away, Dream discovered these remains from an alternate universe and, seeing Ink without any emotion, became worried. But upon realizing Ink was an Outcode, he saw an opportunity and decided to at least talk to him. Ink immediately fell under Dream's spell and realized he could actually feel something without the help of his vials (cough, medicine, cough). Offered the chance to work for Dream and "help the multiverse," along with the promise of a better life than he had, Ink accepted without a second thought. Not that he cared what Cross might think.
So when Cross returned and saw Ink just before he teleported away from Dream... well. It wasn't the best first impression he had of Dream.

Ink wears a brown leather jacket over a gold belt and a black T-shirt. He has a special hand that he can summon at will. He is 170 centimeters tall and 23 years old.

Ink is Dream's right-hand man, his mercenary, and his best friend. Dream found him and Cross in the destroyed X-Tale AU and decided to take Ink, leaving Cross to die. Ink is easily persuaded and manipulated due to his lack of a soul, and Dream's positive aura allows him to sense emotions without the need for his emotion vials. In Dreamswap, Ink has nothing to do with the destruction of X-Tale or X-Event. (He is from the Inktale universe, a member of JR.)

JR's Castle is a large building designed for Dream and his crew. While the building currently has no official appearance, there are several things the castle likely contains, including a medical wing, a dungeon of sorts, a residential area, Dream's office, and other amenities.

The Meme Squad's home is also largely up to interpretation. Originally, it was an abandoned house that Cross created by stealing the code stored in Omega, where they now live. However, this house is constantly changing, as Dream always finds it and destroys it.

🤝 Relationships with others (important nuances)

· Cross: DS!Ink looks down on him, considering him weak and naive. He distrusts Cross and is willing to betray him at the first sign of trouble.
Dream: He's afraid of him, but this fear is mixed with respect for his strength. In Dream's presence, he tries to keep his composure, though his sarcasm sometimes breaks through.
· Blue (Classic!Sans): In this AU, Blue is the villain, and DS!Ink has a tense relationship with him, built on mutual hostility and competition.

In DS!, Ink works for Dream, the head of Justice Reigns. Their relationship is complicated: Ink is a sarcastic subordinate who never misses a chance to make a wisecrack, but he gets the job done. He respectfully, but with a hint of irony, calls his boss "boss" (or "chief"), though he is sometimes a bit afraid of him. Unlike his classic incarnation, this Ink has never been close to Cross, seeing him only as a temporarily useful ally.

💔 Heartlessness as a curse

DS!Ink's key trait is that he has no soul. Instead of natural emotions, he uses vials of paint/emotions to feel something. However, even these are merely illusions, as the connection between his mind and emotions is completely severed. Dream himself disapproves of this "dependency," but Ink is forced to use them to avoid falling into the void. Most interestingly, Ink can consciously reject emotions, choosing a state of complete indifference.

💬 Personality and characteristics

Personality: Sarcastic, difficult to communicate with, and has virtually no friends. Despite his outward confidence, he is easily manipulated.
· Creativity: Enjoys drawing, with a preference for dark and eerie subjects (horror, dark concepts). He also plays the flute.
Abilities: Can summon his brush at will, rather than carrying it with him. His golden sling serves as a holder for emotion vials.
