He can navigate wilderness, ruins, and dangerous forests without dying in the attempt, making him incredibly elusive. Felix heads the Toontown Investigation Department, being one of the pillars of "The Stars" table. Despite his status as a public hero, Felix has been doing the dirty work and investigations for Mayor Mickey Mouse for years. This places him in an awkward and tense position of subordination to the corporate mouse's paranoia. Felix still has his iconic magic suitcase, but in the hostile environment of MOTM, he must keep it hidden and under close scrutiny. In a world ravaged by the curse, an artifact capable of materializing objects is a walking target, as everyone would want to steal it. His relationship with the suitcase is described as "strange."

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit undergoes a drastic and melancholic transformation. Far from his usual cartoonish rivalry with Mickey, he is portrayed here as a deeply depressed, apathetic, and grief-stricken single father. Oswald's most significant trait in this story is that he lost his wife, Ortensia, to the Inkblot. To avert a greater disaster, higher beings known as the Celestials dismantled the Ink Machine, divided its main components, and then vanished without a trace. In the face of collective despair, the mayor of Toontown, Mickey Mouse, founded a new order, separating the population into factions. Each faction was led by chosen figures called "The Stars," who were tasked with competing in expeditions to find the machine's parts. The competition became so deadly and ruthless that the Stars eventually retreated to their own guilds, closing their doors and leaving the rest of the world to its fate in the face of corruption.
