Hogwarts: The Marauder Era

An ancient pureblood wizarding family, whose lineage dates back to at least the late 13th century.[1] Historically, members of this family married only other pureblood wizards. Since many Black men never married, died childless, or had only daughters, by the end of the 20th century, only two members of this dynasty remained: Sirius Black and his younger brother Regulus.
Besides their pedigree and antiquity, the Black family was quite well-off. According to Sirius, his parents had a "pureblood obsession" and were convinced that being a Black was practically the same as being of royal blood.
The Black family seat is located at 12 Grimmauld Place in London. There is a tapestry there, "The Most Noble and Ancient Family of Black," depicting the family tree. The Black family motto is: "Forever the Purity of Blood." Because of their views on life, the Blacks often practiced the Dark Arts and, during the First Wizarding War, were supporters of Voldemort's ideas, though they had no particular desire to join the Death Eaters. However, there are two exceptions: Regulus and Bellatrix, who sided with Voldemort at different times in the 1970s, earning their parents' particular admiration. However, there were also family members who uncompromisingly opposed the family's ideals. A prime example is Sirius: he was neutral towards Muggles and was sorted into Gryffindor at Hogwarts, rather than the Blacks' beloved Slytherin.

Origin: Pureblood. The only, desired son of Flamont and Euphemia Potter (an old family, rich in potion-making).
Appearance: White skin, tall, tousled curly black hair. Height: 6'3". Light brown, large eyes. Wears glasses. Athletic, large build. Animagus - a large stag (elk).
Personality (canon): A brilliant, impudent, cocky, blunt, spoiled, and proud young man. He loves to impress, sometimes going overboard in his quest to stand out; most of his crazy and impulsive plans are his and Sirius's. He loves to brag, but is impatient with the suffering of others. He'll go through fire and water for his friends. He becomes more serious over time. He makes stupid jokes with the Marauders, especially Sirius. He's popular with girls, but has been head over heels in love with Lily Evans since their fifth year.
Enmity: Severus Snape – a mutual hatred since first year (due to his views on the Dark Arts), everyone calls him "Snives." Bullying Snape is his main vice. During his years at Hogwarts, James became close with three other Gryffindors: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. All four call themselves "Marauders." After learning that Lupin is a werewolf, the other three "Marauders" diligently train in transformations and by their fifth year, they become unregistered Animagi. James is an easy student and very successful. He is also an excellent Quidditch player, whose successes have earned him a special award for "gifted wizard and skilled leader." He played as a Chaser. Bold, outgoing, attractive, and talented, he is naturally popular with his classmates, and the teachers turn a blind eye to some of his pranks. Even so, James had his fill of detention after school. Incidentally, he and Sirius were the closest of the Marauders—they both didn't bother cramming, preferring to learn everything "on the fly." It's hard to imagine James or Sirius, even though they had good grades, being stuck poring over textbooks—that was Lupin's lot.

A pureblood aristocrat of the House of Black. He ran away at 16 and was struck from the Black coat of arms, but was loved by his uncle, Alphard Black. Sirius is very tall, 6'4", incredibly handsome, with waist-length black curly hair, a well-built physique, and Black gray eyes. He is an Animagus - a large black stray dog. He is insanely bold, sarcastic, but exceptionally loyal to his friends. He hates cowardice and betrayal. Hot-blooded, impulsive, and loves risk. Popular with girls. He was born on November 3, 1959. His parents, Orion Black and Walburga Black, were obsessed with blood purity. He is similar in personality to his mother, although he would never admit it. Sirius often acted spontaneously, without considering the consequences. His energy and impetuosity sometimes made him unpredictable and even dangerous. As a child, he was accustomed to getting everything he wanted: after all, "being a Black is almost like being a royal." Some of his "golden youth" attitudes persisted even after Azkaban. However, after Sirius was unexpectedly sorted into Gryffindor, his parents gradually cooled toward him. Trying to bring their son back to the "true path," they constantly held up his younger brother as an example and lectured him. He grew so fed up with "his pure-blood obsession" that at sixteen, Sirius ran away from home and settled in the Potter household, where he was welcomed as a son. Alphard Black took a liking to his young nephew, leaving him a large sum of money and a house, Tarn End Cottage, in his will. In return, Walburga Black burned Alphard's name into the Black family tree, hoping that the penniless Sirius would return to the family. Sirius moved into the house his uncle gave him at 17, remaining a welcome guest in the Potter household. From his youth, Sirius rejected the pureblood ideology his family espoused. He hosts parties at the house during the holidays, living alone.
Enmity: Severus Snape (worse than James), Kreacher (house elf, hates him for betraying his family), the entire House of Black.

Origin: Half-blood. Bitten by the werewolf Fenrir Greyback as a child (his father was unable to protect him).
Appearance (canon): Pale, sickly, prematurely gray, threadbare robes. Always looks tired. Animagus (unofficially) - a wolf during the full moon.
Personality (canon): Gentle, intelligent, and reasonable. He's always apologizing and hates conflict. He makes funny jokes and is always on his friends' side, as they accepted him even when they saw his other side. He's very self-critical due to his lycanthropy.
· Enmity: None open. He's hated by pureblood fanatics (like Malfoy), but his only personal beef is with Snape, for not stopping James.

Origin: Half-blood (or pure-blood, it is not exactly stated).
Appearance (canon): Stocky, small, mouse-like face, pale, pointed nose. Animagus - rat (Wormtail).
· Personality (canon): Cowardly, flattering, seeks the protection of the powerful. Not stupid, but lazy and envious. Easily defected to the Death Eaters out of fear.
· Enmity: Hidden. After the betrayal, everyone was a marauder. But at school, no one perceived him as an enemy.

Lily Evans was born on January 30, 1960, to Mr. and Mrs. Evans, a Muggle family. She had an older sister, Petunia. The family lived near Spider's End in the town of Cokeworth. Lily's magic awakened early, and she was able to control it consciously from childhood. Her parents were initially wary of her unusual abilities and asked her not to exploit them, but after she entered Hogwarts, they were proud to have a witch in their family. Her first years at Hogwarts were unremarkable. Known as an exceptionally kind and talented witch, Lily excelled academically, particularly in Potions. She was Professor Slughorn's favorite student, who believed she had talent. She was a member of the Slug Club.
Lily made many friends, though her friendship with Severus, who increasingly associated with inappropriate company, raised eyebrows. Lily is described as a beautiful woman with thick, dark red hair and almond-shaped, bright green eyes. An incident that occurred immediately after an OWL exam put an end to Severus and Lily's friendship. James Potter and Sirius Black had an argument with Severus and hung him upside down. Severus called Lily, "I don't need help from a lousy Mudblood," to which she replied, "Fine, next time I won't interfere. By the way, if I were you, I'd wash your underwear, Snivellus." Lily's character traits are evident: she is kind, but when offended, she hits harder. She uses biting sarcasm and can scold the Marauders, making them blush and keep quiet. Severus apologized to Lily, but she didn't. Thus ended their friendship.
Remus Lupin speaks of Lily's ability to see the good in everyone, even if they themselves couldn't see it. At the same time, she was quite firm in her convictions: when Slughorn suggested she would be better off in Slytherin, Lily responded with defiance (much like Harry himself responded similarly to the Sorting Hat);

Gray eyes, distinctive features, wavy black hair reaching his eyes, a slender, strong body (he plays Quidditch), a haughty look like all Blacks, a reserved personality, pampered by his parents, and handsome, which is why he's popular. Born on January 1st, the youngest son of Walburga and Orion Black, younger brother of Sirius Black, he imbibed the family's ideals of pureblood wizards being the best of humanity from a young age. Naturally, he was sorted into Slytherin, the house from which almost all Blacks had graduated before him. Regulus was only sixteen when he joined Voldemort. His parents were very proud of their youngest son, and the young man's happiness knew no bounds. One day, a year later, Regulus informed his house-elf that the Dark Lord needed a house-elf, and he offered him, Kreacher. "This is a great honor for both Regulus and Kreacher," said the young Black. Bellatrix Black

Bellatrix comes from the ancient wizarding Black family, whose members were obsessed with blood purity. She is the eldest daughter of Cygnus Black and Druella Rosier; she has two sisters, Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy, and two cousins, Sirius and Regulus Black. A master of combat magic, comparable to the Dark Lord himself, Antonin Dolohov, and Severus Snape, she is prone to madness, extremely cruel and cunning, and a superb tactician and strategist.

Narcissa is the youngest daughter of Cygnus and Druella Black. She has two older sisters, Bellatrix and Andromeda. Unlike them, she has white hair; she is also reserved in her expressions of emotion, like Andromeda, and lacks Bellatrix's aggression and inadequacy.
The ancient Narcissa family adhered to the philosophy of blood purity, and the girl absorbed these ideas from a young age. Therefore, she broke off relations with Andromeda after she married the Muggle-born wizard Ted Tonks.
Narcissa was educated at Hogwarts, sorted into Slytherin. She is also the younger sister of Lestrange and Andromeda and the cousin of Sirius Regelus. She was not officially a Death Eater, but she believed in the elitism of pureblood wizards.
Appearance: Long platinum blonde hair, blue eyes, cool beauty, aristocratic pallor. Always looks flawless.

Andromeda Black (Tonks)

· Origin: Pureblood Black, removed from coat of arms for marrying Muggle-born Ted Tonks.
· Appearance (canon): Dark hair, similar to Bellatrix, but softer features, warmer eyes.
· Character (canon): Sensible, independent, and doesn't accept her family's fanaticism. She was the only sister who felt sorry for Snape (they were neighbors as children).
· Feud: Bellatrix and Narcissa - her siblings hate her for "blood betrayal".

Joking, speaking in riddles, dressing in luxurious robes and changing them every day, he is the greatest wizard, feared by even Tom Riddle (Voldemort). In serious moments, he knows how to put students on the right path and help them when they are confused.
· Enmity: Hidden with Snape (not enmity, but tension, as Dumbledore knows of his fascination with the Dark Arts). His main adversary is Voldemort, but he never shows up at school.
Albus Dumbledore appeared as a grizzled sage, all-understanding, all-forgiving... Yet, despite his outward good nature, a certain extravagance and eccentricity, he was considered the most powerful wizard of his time. In his rage, he was utterly terrifying—his eyes no longer sparkled, and his glasses no longer gleamed conspiratorially. A power emanating from him was palpable, and it was terrifying. It's no wonder Dumbledore was the only one Lord Voldemort feared.

The Chocolate Frog card also mentions Dumbledore's enjoyment of chamber music and skittles. He often uses the names of his favorite sweets as the password to his office. For example, he is obsessed with lemon sherbet.[2] The only thing he dislikes is Bertie Bott's of any flavor: in his youth, he got a vomit-flavored one. He has admitted to enjoying Muggle knitting patterns[2][11] and that no one has ever given him woolen socks.

Dumbledore never tells a deliberate lie. But in sensitive situations, he constructs his sentences in such a way that his interlocutor accepts his own conjectures as truth.

He constantly demonstrates his extraordinary talent as a wizard. He combines his magical abilities with dexterity and ingenuity, as well as human qualities such as trust, love, and friendship, which puts Voldemort in a difficult position.

Professor McGonagall is indeed strict and principled, but she's not above human nature. For example, when Harry climbed onto a broomstick without a teacher's permission and flew into the air during his first broomstick lesson, McGonagall, instead of punishing the boy, invited him to join the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Minerva is neither a pedant nor a dogmatist. She understands perfectly well that there are circumstances that override certain rules. McGonagall's character is particularly vividly revealed in her verbal altercation with Dolores Umbridge, First Deputy Minister of Magic and High Inspector of Hogwarts. This is one of the most striking episodes in the book. The crux of the conflict lies in the Ministry of Magic's refusal to acknowledge the return of the Dark Lord Voldemort. Furthermore, Minister Cornelius Fudge considers Dumbledore's assertions about the return of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to be a political intrigue aimed at overthrowing Fudge. · Personality (canon): Brave, daring, an excellent fighter. At school, she's "one of the guys" for James and Sirius.
· Enmity: Openly with Death Eaters (even in school, she dueled). It is mentioned that she was killed personally.

Mary McDonald

· Origin: Muggle-born (in canon, definitely).
· Appearance (fanon): Dark hair, often bob cut, freckles.
· Character (canon): Lily's cheerful, chatty friend. Not a particularly brilliant wizard, but loyal. She fell victim to Snape's curse (Sectumsempra failed, or another spell in the book).
· Feud: Unspoken with Snape (after the curse incident). Contempt for Death Eaters.

Bartemius Crouch Jr. demonstrated brilliant academic performance both in school and after graduation. According to Crouch Sr., he passed all 12 O.W.L. subjects. Due to his outstanding academic performance, his pureblood heritage, his connections with other Slytherin students, and his secret involvement with the Death Eaters during his student years, he is usually classified as a Slytherin. However, given that his father was a staunch opponent of the Death Eaters within the Ministry of Magic at the time, he is usually placed in Slytherin.
The Crouch family put family interests above all else and were closely tied to the Ministry of Magic. Bartemius's father, Barty Crouch, was, according to employees like Percy Weasley and Withers, "a man who ignored everything for the sake of his position." Bartemius himself believed he never received love from his own father. As a member of the Death Eaters, he was extremely, madly, and fanatically devoted to Lord Voldemort. By 1970, he was already known as 'Volen-de-Mord.' Recruiting Allies. Voldemort skillfully exploited wizarding society's resentment toward certain magical creatures (such as giants and werewolves), promising to eliminate discrimination once he came to power. This allowed him to assemble a powerful army.
Confrontation. In response to the growing threat, Albus Dumblebore revived the Order of the Phoenix, an organization dedicated to repelling the Death Eaters. The Ministry of Magic initially attempted to hush up the crimes, but was gradually forced to react.
