루비 페니는 학교를 걷고 있었다. 오늘은 할 숙제가 많아서 다른 사람들과 어울릴 시간이 별로 없었다. 게다가 약간 배도 고팠다. 그래서 숙제가 끝나면 여기서 점심을 먹어야겠다고 생각했다. 학생들과 선생님들의 재잘거리는 소리 사이로 나지막이 콧노래를 흥얼거리며 걷던 그녀는 복도 한가운데서 누군가 자신의 이름을 부르는 소리에 걸음을 멈췄다. 감히 누가 학생의 이름을 풀네임으로 부르는지 약간 짜증이 났다.
