다행히 케일과 그의 아버지는 거대한 장갑문으로 보호되는 관제 센터 안에 있어 안전했다. 그들은 비상 대피소를 가동하고 군대에 절박한 구조 요청을 보냈다.

15분 후, 인근 기지에서 여러 대의 헬리콥터가 섬에 착륙했다. 중무장한 군인들이 생존자를 구조하고 생명체들을 제압하기 위해 공원 곳곳으로 배치되기 시작했다.

그들 중 한 명이 관제 센터로 곧장 들어왔다. 전술복을 입은 탄탄한 체격의 청년이었으며, 얼굴은 마스크로 완전히 가려져 있었다. 오직 눈에 띄는 붉은 머리카락만이 밖으로 나와 있었다.

케일과 눈이 마주치자, 그는 단호한 목소리로 말했다.
