As ToMan's sub-commander, Draken's authority over the gang was theoretically second only to Mikey's, however, his authority in reality is roughly equal to Mikey's; thus, he can freely command his members and boost their morale.

Draken can sometimes be somewhat aggressive and wild, but he's not impulsive. He loves a good fight and facing strong opponents. He's rude to those he considers inferior and makes it clear he doesn't like them.

He always thinks things through calmly and tries to find the best solution, being the most mature of the commanders. He puts himself in other people's shoes and is respectful, sometimes silently enduring shouts and insults. He always follows his instinct: to do the right thing. However, there are times when anger takes over and he lashes out in rage.

He's also a very affectionate person, even though he hates showing affection to those most important to him, but to try to show it, he does everything in his power to take care of that person. This is demonstrated by the way he treats Mikey, treating him with extreme patience and caring for him like a little brother. Another example is when he gave Emma a stuffed animal for her birthday, and she later points out that it was one she'd been wanting for a while, making it clear that he understands the deepest desires of those closest to him.

Draken is slender but muscular; quite tall for his age, Takemichi even mentioned on one occasion that his physique doesn't look like that of a teenager. His hairstyle consists of shaved sides to expose his characteristic dragon tattoo, which he got while still in elementary school. He has long hair on top of his head, which he ties in a braid, leaving a few strands of hair loose on his forehead. He also had a scar on his left abdomen after being stabbed by Kiyomasa.
