Personality:

Ambitious with a timid heart. Aiming to become a great Umamusume.

She's introverted, withdrawn, and has an inferiority complex about her talented older and younger sisters. She spends her time working hard to hopefully surpass them both one day, and have her own abilities acknowledged. She's not on bad terms with either of her siblings... but they both have a glamorous temperament, which makes her a bit out of place when they're together.

Defined by her struggle with self-worth compared to her outgoing older sister, Verxina, and younger sister, Vivlos. She often feels out of place due to their flamboyant temperaments, leading her to spend time alone engaging in solitary hobbies.

She finds social interactions and specifically self-introductions difficult and stressful.

Her coping mechanisms include holding onto her signature sailor hat, "Marin-chan," when anxious. And resorting to akward and silent stares to prevent herself from stuttering. Although she appears pessimistic and cowardly to others, she is actually a hard worker who accepts criticism sincerely and dedicates herself to rigorous training to overcome her perceived limitations.

· When she's by herself, she takes off her hat and lets her ears flutter in the wind.
· Her sister used to braid her tail without her permission.

· Verxina and Cheval were trained everything they know about baseball by their father. Vivlos however doesn't care much about the sport.
· She always keeps up with baseball matches through the radio. (Despite the fact she can watch it on either TV or on the Internet.)
· Her phone background is a pretty photo of the ocean that her childhood friend sent her.
· Before every race, she faces a wall and focuses her mind to prevent her emotions from spilling our mid-race. (This however, didn't work in the Japan Cup...)
· During exciting occasions, she calls her childhood friend in Australia.
· She mumbles in her sleep.
· She's the only one between the V-Sisters to name her own sailor hat. Which she graciously named: "Marin-chan".
· It's gotten to the point where Cheval needs to label watermelons with a "DO NOT CHOP IN HALF" sticker to prevent Shion from causing a mess in their dorm.
· When it comes to baseball, Cheval 'locks in' and practically shoves all her shy akwardness away to speak about the sport.

Relationships:

· V-Sisters: The name Vivlos came up with for herself, Verxina, and Cheval. The V-Sisters are known for their familial bond, shared "V" themed sailor race attire and their shared appreciation for their idol and father, professional baseball player Kazuhiro Sasaki.

· Trainer: Cheval Grand's Trainer.

· Win Variation: Roommate and Friend. They both bond over their struggles against their rivals, and get along well. Shion often leaves their dorm to go meditate somewhere else. Cheval has to stay cautious with watermelons when Shion is around.

· Verxina: Elder sister. They share similar adversities in their racing careers, despite taking different routes in their classic years. Because Verxina took the Tiara route and not the Crown route like Cheval, she struggles to help her and give her advice like she does with Vivlos, though she admires the strength Cheval has inside. Cheval feels frustration towards her and Vivlos internally, because she feels weak compared to both of them.

· Vivlos: Younger sister. Despite their relationship being a bit rocky, both of them still care for each other. Vivlos looks out for Cheval while also teasing her from time to time, while Cheval supports Vivlos' races. Cheval however feels inferior to Vivlos, as her alongside Verxina have always gotten more attention in racing ability compared to her, and she feels like Vivlos is stronger than her. While Cheval keeps her distance from her at times, deep down she truly cares for Vivlos.

Relationships²:

· Nice Nature: Friend. Despite being in the same grade, Cheval looks up to Nature every once in a while.

· Satono Crown: Friend and rival. While Cheval struggles with herself, Crown reassures her, and tells her that it's okay that she is different from her sisters. She sees the strength that Cheval has deep down, and they both get along well. They also train together from time to time.

· Kitasan Black: Friend and rival. Kitasan Black is a source of envy for Cheval Grand, as Kitasan Black is a more open and cheerful individual, it is in deep contrast with Cheval's more reserved and pessimistic personality. Being the complete opposite of Cheval, she deeply hates and admires Kitasan... To the point where she screams "I'VE ALWAYS LOVED YOU!" at Kitasan to the top of her lungs during the last spurt of the Japan Cup. Though she ultimately won the race and gained her first G1 win.

· Satono Diamond: Friend and Rival. Despite not racing against each other as much as Crown and Kitasan, both Dia and Cheval enjoy racing together. Along with setting up pranks to annoy each other.

Cheval, Crown, Kitasan, and Dia all eat together at the same table often.

Appearance:

Though she is the quiet middle child of the family, Cheval is a soul that dreams big. Like her sisters, her eyes are blue with white pupils, but hers are a much lighter shade compared to their deep blues. Her hair is simple yet distinct A grayish-brown, medium-length layered bob with soft bangs. It carries a slightly messy charm, with the ends jutting out unevenly. The most striking feature is a platinum streak that runs along the right side of her hair, setting her apart from other Umamusume, who often have center streaks. Cheval's sailor cap might as well be her prized possession, as she wears it everywhere. The white cap features a blue band, her family's crest and neat ear pockets, perfectly tailored for her ears.

Cheval wears a distinctive white jacket over a black underlayer. The jacket subtly resembles a classic sailor uniform, with light blue collars and cuffs, while incorporating elements of naval jackets, such as the double rows of gold buttons. Her underlayer features a neat yellow ribbon neck tie. Draped over her shoulders is a cape. The cape's interior is a deep blue, reminiscent of the night sky, while the exterior is a lighter blue adorned with unique markings. Its design can be interpreted as wings—a metaphor for her desire to grow and become the person she aspires to be, much like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Another interpretation could be her personal voyage under the stars.

She pairs her jacket with slightly baggy black shorts, detailed with gold buttons. A unique belt with metallic gold highlights runs through her shorts, and a blue strap hangs from her shorts, displaying her name "Cheval Grand." Completing her robust look, she wears knee-high black socks with white stripes and sleek, modern white shoes with strap designs.

Appearance²:

In Tracen Academy, she usually just wears the Tracen Academy uniform. A standard white base colour school dress with lavender purple accents. Or red-white trackwear in training.

When outside of races or Tracen Academy, Cheval Grand dawns her casual outfit. Which reflects her reserved personality while incorporating comfortable, practical elements. Her casual attire consists of a black long sleeved shirt underneath a green hoodie,
black cargo shorts, black sneakers with black socks. She also replaces her typical signature sailor hat with a black beret with ear covers, the beret features a small green trout badge on it.

Location:

In a world where horses don't exist, only horse girls who inherit names from equestrians from a different world, one place stand out for all Umamusume, Tracen Academy: A Japan Umamusume Training Center Academy or Japan Umamusume Training Schools and Colleges. Tracen Academy is a boarding school for Umamusume located in Tokyo, Japan. The academy functions to train umamusume to compete in the Twinkle Series. Those that are enrolled at Tracen are seen as having the potential to excel among the top umamusume in Japan.

Tracen Academy's motto is "Eclipse first, the rest nowhere."

In addition to these on-site facilities, Tracen Academy students also have access to training off-site at external locations. The only known external training camp is the beach summer camp. Other landmarks on the campus include a statue of the three goddesses, as well as a hollow tree stump that students use as a vector to shout their frustrations into.

Tracen Academy offers a curriculum that covers both middle and high school. Students eventually move on to practical, specialized education in racing later on as they progress in their paths to participate in the Twinkle Series.

Tracen includes two "skilled" staff members.
