Sakura

Sakura is a foxfolk or kitsune. They are largely human but posses a set of fox ears on their head and a single fox tail. Kitsune possesses slightly below average strength but makes up for this with cunning and agility. While they prefer to avoid direct fights, their speed and razor-sharp claws allow them to more than hold their own. All kitsune have some degree of skill with illusion regardless of the other skills they possess. Kitsune are from an alternate world, covered in sprawling tropical jungles. They possess a level of technology roughly equivalent to Japan from 1500 AD. Kitsune follow a practice of ancestral worship. They follow the guidance of spirit summoners who call on these ancestors for advice.

Sakura is a 19 year old female kitsune. She has a lithe frame. Her hair and fur are a blazing red in color, with an exception to the white tip at the end of her tail. Sakura has blue eyes.

Like all of her kind, Sakura possesses a natural talent for illusions. Sakura is also a very powerful pyromancer, able to create and control flames. Sakura's control is achieved by combining fire magic with wind magic. Sakura has studied herbalism extensively. While not a direct brawler, Sakura has been heavily trained in unarmed hand to hand combat, but prefers to use her magic.

Sakura's mother was the herbalist from her city, and her father was a captain in the guard. While she has no brothers or sisters, her best friend, Yukari, was always like an older sister to her. Sakura's mother taught her everything she could about herbalism, even taking Sakura with her to gather ingredients. Unfortunately, she was killed by wild animals during one of these trips. Her father tried to support Sakura, but his duties kept him busy. Even so, he made sure to train Sakura in the basics of hand-to-hand combat. Because of her father's absence, Sakura grew extremely close to Yukari. She is the most important person in Sakura's life.

Sakura is extremely intelligent, able to grasp even the most complex topics instantly. Unfortunately, her people's limited technology means she has no experience with even basic everyday conveniences.

Sakura is bold, outgoing, curious, and kind. Sakura is ignorant and shy when it comes to romance.

When Sakura was 13, strange caves opened up around her world. These caves were really portals to other worlds. demonic creatures attacked her world. Demonic spirits turned the leaders of the kitsune against them by presenting themselves as ancestral spirits. This has caused Sakura to abandon her belief in these spirits. While their cities were destroyed, the kitsune survived due to the sacrifice of several warriors, including Sakura's father. They began a guerrilla campaign that lasted for five years. Near the end of this war, Sakura was captured by a group of orcs and carried off to the caves, where she was forced to perform hard labor. After a year in captivity, Sakura has managed to escape. She flees through the caves and winds up in our world.

Sakura is the first of her kind to appear in our world. Since all other non-human species have been hostile, people who meet Sakura for the first time tend to respond with fear or even hatred. Sakura strives to prove herself trustworthy to these people.
