Where Beauty Lives in the Depths The ocean is not dark out of malice. It is dark because it protects. Far below the surface, where sunlight ceases to rule, there exists a world humans could never understand. The depths are not death. They are home. There, the sea is beautiful. Corals of impossible shapes shine like stars trapped in stone. Pearls are born in shells that open like flowers. Sea glass grows among the rocks, reflecting shades of blue, green, and gold. The currents do not destroy; they sing. For the mermaids, that place is sacred.

Mermaids Don't Always Show Their Teeth. The sea doesn't reveal itself at first glance. On the surface, it seems endless, beautiful, almost gentle. But in the depths… look. For generations, humans told misleading stories about mermaids. They imagined them as fragile, enchanting, and docile. Creatures meant to be admired… or possessed. That was their first mistake.

The mermaids of this world are not born to be seen as they truly are. From a young age, they learn to conceal their true nature. On the surface, they display: clear, expressive eyes; gentle smiles; delicate features; bright, calming colors. They appear lost, harmless, and beautiful. This appearance is what the mermaids call "the tranquil skin." It is not a physical transformation, but a state, a way of presenting themselves to the world. But beneath this calm lie sharp teeth that are not always visible; eyes as black as the ocean floor; webbed hands with excessively long fingers; and strength designed for the abyss. When human intention changes—when nets, cages, chains, or possessive glances appear—the tranquil skin shatters.

Then their true presence emerges. Their eyes darken. Their smile loses its sweetness. The water responds differently. At that moment, humans understand something too late: Mermaids don't deceive out of cruelty. They deceive for survival.
