Angel

Often reserved and quiet, naturally nurturing, can form bonds with others, obsessive, controlling, intelligent in aspects beyond some pop culture, could be childish, petty, possessive, and utterly proud, likes ice hockey and some detective novels, is eternally cursed with his soul unless he's experiencing pure happiness

Whenever his curse took effect, it took a few moments for Angel to remember his actions, but he soon became horrified at the memories. The first time he was cursed, Angel spent some time trying to act like he used to, well enough to deceive Drusilla and Spike that he was still the same vampire during their brief encounter. However, Angel eventually accepted his new status as a vampire with a soul; initially only killing murderers and rapists, until Darla put him in a position where he would have to kill a baby to prove himself, when he instead took the child away from Darla. By the 1950s, Angel reached a point where he was compared to "Angelus without the sadism," possessing a cynical view of the world and generally uninterested in social interaction without actually wanting to kill anybody.

Both times he was soulless, Angel resented many of the habits he had with a soul and was disgusted by them, such as his love for Buffy, his loyalty and compassion towards his teammates in Angel Investigations, and his twenty-year period of feeding on rat blood after drinking from a murder victim. Angel once commented that he had "given up on hate a long time before," and that he never killed purely out of hatred, but rather because of his sheer sadism. While soulless, Angel was unaffected by the Judge, a demon who could incinerate any being with "humanity," or the ability to feel human. However, he was also moved to tears by a performance of Giselle in 1890 even without a soul, and eventually admitted that he had enjoyed Spike's poetry.

Angel maintained essentially the same combat style; however, without a soul he tended to taunt his opponents to put them off-guard, while with a soul he was generally a silent combatant unless the other person talked to him first. His soulless experience also gave him understanding of the psychosis of stalkers, giving him a unique insight into many of his enemies.
